When I try too rest until healed (also in an INN) it takes 11 days. Now that's a bit long methinks, does constitution influence resting time and does time matter in the end?

I'm not sure about the consitution but the eventual time is irrelevant, you can take 100 years.

It's not a long time if your fighter or barb is drained to something very little. It's standard d&d, welcome to the real game =)
you heal hp x level pr day (ie a level 3 heals 3hp pr day).

OK I guess it makes perfect sense, it's just that I'm used to BG games. It's like when I had to go from ThaC0 too the 3 edition rules.

One small question still: how many hours to rest until you regain back spells?

usually eight, but you can only regain spells once every 24 hours (and you have to rest at least once). At least in 3e

I seems after a significant battle, it's been taking me about 10 days to heal to full strength.

The rule about gaining spells only once in a 24 hour period is one of the few that isn't carried over to ToEE. So your party can rest for 8 hours to regain spells at any point.

Also to note, the 'rest until healed' option does not take into account ability point damage. If a party member is suffering any ability damage they will regain 1 point per day of rest.

The other issue with the "rest until healed" option is that it does not automatically use clerical healing spells to aid you. So if you have a cleric, you need to rest manually in 8 hour increments and cast your healing spells each time. Which should dramatically reduce your healing rate.

If you real from combat entirely non magically, yeah, its gonna take weeks for wounds to heal.

Vormaerin... I noticed that. What I did was have my cleric cast his healing spells right before an 8 hour rest---cut the overall healing time by days---though it stll took longer than in other games I've seen.

should be about the same as other D&D games that make an attempt to follow the rules. The IE games just autocast your healing spells for you if you selected 'rest until healed'.

Could be you have fewer clerics and other healing types in your party than you are used to? I had a cleric, a bard, and a druid. Rarely took more than 2 rest periods to recover from anything really nasty.
