4th of July/Good hosting?

    [​IMG] Well it's here, 4th of July. It came up fast this year! I was surprised to hear that it's only 3 or 4 days away.

    So what are you going to do this 4th? I'm going to be hosting a block party so I need to get as much sleep this week as I can to be in a good hosting mood.

    I know that not every one here is American so I ask this. Do you have a type of Indapendince Day?

    One last question. Whats a host to do? I have never really been very hosty in previse 4th's. It's not my favorite day. But what would make a good host?

    We've got the 3rd october which is the "day of the german unity". But we don't make a great fuss about it. So it's not really the same.

    WELL... It's 9:20pm, June 30th, and in 2 hours and 40 minutes, when I am alone and stuck in my bed, I shall stop reading, pause my music, and whisper to myself. "Today is Canada Day." And then in the morning I shall wear my "Canadian girls kick ass" shirt. :grin:

    Today is Canada Day!! Yay!

    Actually, it's pretty much a made-up holiday to give us a long weekend during the summer between June and August. But we like it :p

    And of couse, the American side of my family is gearing up for yet another family reunion/picnic over the 4th of July long weekend. Only a few hundred will attend....

    Our national day is 21th of July. We don't make a lot of fuss about it, some people like to hang flags out of their windows, but for me it's just an ordinary day. We don't get a day off, as it's during our summer holiday and we don't have to go to school anyway.

    Food and drink are no problem. Feeding a 100+ people is easy. The heat will be the hard part.


    (side note) i wish a Canadian girl would kick my ass....or any girl....my just say hi to me. Awell.
