Are +5 weapons required to finish?

I love the gauntlet and girdle too much to get rid of 'em for one weapon.

[IMG] I don't know about "required" But I would think they would help.

But then again, I'm nowhere near the end yet... :(

There are just too few of them around (one only usable by paladins, the other only by mages).

Depends on your party really. If your party is more served by girdle and gauntlet, then you shuld keep it that way. +5 weapon is not required in any way. There are other +5 weapons like the sling, Carsomyr and so on if you really want them.

If the person who wields Crom Faeyr is one of the ones who had the gauntlets or girdle, then you're only losing one of them (since it gives 25 STR), and there are other girdles to be had that give better than 18/00 strength.

I am of the opinion that the benefits of Crom Faeyr outweigh the detriments...

[IMG] Depends on what type of weapons your characters prefer to use. None of my four characters who get to fight on the front really use hammers, or flails for that matter. So I never found much of use for the flail of ages even though it is a very nice weapon. And since my main fighter uses mainly swords, I didn't want to take his girdle and my fighter/druid's gauntlets and turn them into Crom Fyer. I weighed it out and thought I should stick with longswords for my fighter because of all the proficiency points he has, and since Crom Fyer needs to be equiped to get 25 strength, I dicided to keep the girdle and gaunlets seperate. It just made sense to keep the hammer unasembled in my party.
