A Bad Day in the Sewers

Discussion in 'BG2: Shadows of Amn (Classic)' started by biggreenpriest, May 7, 2001.

  1. [IMG] I was talking smack with someone in another thread about going around those tough bandits in the sewers, saying that because he had recommended going around them, he had chosen the "Panty-Bandit" kit. Ha ha.

Well, I must admit I thought about shadowkeeping my character to a panty bandit after what happened to me there. It was funny, if you think getting killed is funny.

Jaheira and my Sorcerer went forward and threw entangle and death cloud at them (no cheating, we were talking fair and square!), I left a trail of skull traps behind us. They die if they stay still, they die if the chase me. Ha ha!

Well, I get symbol:fear tossed at us and J. gets it bad. She starts running, past the bandits (taking many hits on the way through) and into the group of kobolds down the hall. So with them in tow, she keeps running down the hall to the nexus of the sewers, where lots of kobolds and the bad kitty Ragussa (spelling?) live. They start chasing her, too. And what does she do but come up *behind* my team, past us, back into the seething mix of death cloud and entangle, leading about 25 kobold and one angry kitty up my nether regions.

So, if you think those bandits are hard, add 25 angry monkeys and one magic-resistant kitty to the mix. Then roll for initiative.

After the death of three of my party, I reloaded.

Is there a cat in the sewers? And i dont see what your problem is with them bandits? I killed them with me (sorcerer), Korgan and Viconia pretty easy not to speak about with my previous "good" party. But the fear thing is tiring. Was it only you and Jaheira?
Next time use resist fear ;)

[IMG] Bout that skull trap trail thingie... If you run close to a skull trap it will explode right? Even when you have set it yourself? Seems to me you have closed off your way out and are surrounded. Or you never noticed your health dropped too when you were running past it. haha. ;)

P.S. Fireballs (and skulltraps) work wonders on big groups of goblins

Ragusa, it was obvious that the kitty wasn't an angry Ragusa - that would have killed the whole of his party not just three of them :)

  6. skull traps and self-mutilation

If you cast the skull trap on the side of the hall, and go around it, it usually won't go off.

Then you carefully escape the same way you came. But you dodge back so the AI pursues you right in line w/ the skull. Then, the trap works without mysteriously decreasing those extra hit points.

[IMG] Man, I'd love to tell my story of my battle in the sewers but I already did on the thread "your best battle?". My party was seprated all through the sewers as a result of the fear spell, plus there were spawned Kobolds and Goblins to deal with on the other end. Those bandits are tough. It ended up being the best battle yet in the game.

how do u open the secret doors in the walls in sewer?

  11. Avooch Dar Guest

one of the doors can be opened immediatly and this is where you will find the bard Haer'Dalis.
The other one can only be opened when you get the key from tazok's body in Firkragg's lair. i won't spoil the game for you but i must warn you that what lurks behind the locked door is pretty damn tough!
