    {read post #9 for links to a similar link-list for Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 megamodding...}
THIS SHOULD BE A FULL LIST OF LINKS TO ALL MODS:

Icewind Dale II - Patch 2.01

    Level 40 extended tables: http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/dl.php?s=IWD2&f=IWD2/ExtendedTables40.zip
you can't have one without the - other
    Improved Level 30 tables (mathematician-approved): http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/dl.php?s=IWD2&f=IWD2/IWD2XP_Extended.rar
Addresses the issues of sudden XP loss for low-level kills by making the decline more gradual.

    IWD2 Modified Scripts: http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/dl.php?s=IWD2&f=IWD2/Scripts.zip

    Improved Initiative Workaround: http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/dl.php?s=IWD2&f=IWD2/ii_fix.zip

Double XP in Insane Mode: http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/dl.php?s=IWD2&f=IWD2/Moncrate.zip
    Tweaked Experience Tables: http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/IWD2/tweaked_xp_tables.php
these alter moncrate.2da, you can do this by hand, to suit your style. Download my guide below, it also contains a modified moncrate.2da file so you have a level 40 experience table, AND always get some XP for kills. None of the other tables does both. Drop it in Override folder AFTER Level 40 Extended Tables.

Feats & Skills Mod: this is a cheat, and will spoil the challenge of creating your character. But here's the link:
    http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/dl.php?s=IWD2&f=IWD2/Feats_Skills_Mod.zip

    Cleric Domains: http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/dl.php?s=IWD2&f=IWD2/IWD2-clerics.zip
    Subraces: http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/dl.php?s=IWD2&f=IWD2/IWD2-subraces.zip
these remove existing races and classes, I didn't bother.

    G3's Icewind Dale 2 Tweaks Pack: http://www.gibberlings3.net/iwd2tweak/

    Ease-of-Use: http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/dl.php?s=IWD2&f=IWD2/Weimer-IWD2-Ease.rar
IMPORTANT: update your WeiDU installer for this mod, it's old... and DON'T install Randomized Treasure component!
    Get WeiDU here: http://weidu.org/
    latest version is http://www.weidu.org/~thebigg/WeiDU-Windows-215.zip
To update, copy the WeiDU exe-file in the WeiDU zip, and rename it to replace Setup-IWD2-Ease.exe, then run it once and the installer will be updated.

    Chosen of Mystra IWD2 Store Add-on: http://forums.chosenofmystra.net/index.php?topic=6.0

This is a link to the Light of Selune mod:
    http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/dl.php?s=IWD2&f=IWD2/LightOfSelune.zip
Be aware that this mod alters existing items in the game, most notably adding a requirement of 13WIS and 16STR to Cera Sumat.

MindChild's customdll fix: Monks can wear robes, Paladins of Mystra can choose sorcerer, and more.
    http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/dl.php?s=IWD2&f=IWD2/IWD2Custom.rar
Read the readme: you need to adjust the config file to suit your play.

    Tactics for IWD2:
    http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/dl.php?s=IWD2&f=IWD2/Tactics4IWD2.rar
This new version IS playable in Heart of Fury mode. The updated readme states numerous bonuses and changes for Heart of Fury mode, so ignore the warning about not playing it in HoF, that should have been removed. Be warned that your party is subject to an alignment change after a certain mission, so read the readme.
If you don't want the alignment change after a mission, I contacted the author, and he sent me 65MAXHP.BCS as an attachment. To avoid the alignment change after a mission, drop 65MAXHP.BCS
into Override. The file is included in IWD2_4dummies:
    http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/dl.php?s=IWD2&f=IWD2/IWD2-4dummies.zip
If anyone's interested in trying out HoF Tactics without the bonuses, 65MAXHP.BCS file should be the way to do it. It successfully negates the alignment change, but also seems to delete the HP and AC bonuses that the author intended to apply to HoF parties. For some players this may be preferable, as it restores a large part of HoF's challenge.

The Widescreen Mod works fine in IWD2:
    http://www.gibberlings3.net/widescreen/

    Improved Monk's Fists: http://www.sorcerers.net/forums/showthread.php?t=59766
Extended DUHM & DBFB spells to L40 (need L40 extender): http://www.sorcerers.net/forums/showthread.php?t=59922
    Polearm's rage extender: http://www.sorcerers.net/forums/showthread.php?t=59921
    Stronger Barbarian Rage: http://www.sorcerers.net/forums/showthread.php?t=59920

NearInfinity is a browsing/editing program which I used and would recommend. It's fairly intuitive, and allows you to search for items/areas/problems.
    http://www.idi.ntnu.no/~joh/ni/NearInfinity.jar

Weimer's Icewind Gate 2, an abandoned beta. It transfers the entire game of Baldur's Gate 2:Shadows of Amn. Download the conversion from the link below, and don't ignore the bug reporting forum! Be advised that the beta won’t install on Vista, and probably later systems.
    http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/dl.php?s=IWD2&f=IWD2/IWG2.rar
    The forum:
    http://forums.pocketplane.net/index.php/topic,23874.0.html
You WILL need the walkthrough at hand to avoid bugs and crashes:
    http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/dl.php?s=IWD2&f=IWD2/IWGWalkthrough.rar
There are issues getting mods to work in IWG2, but I'm trying to get them solved.
NEW! The delta 1 version of Icewind Gate 2 by Nameless One. Currently the old Beta is better though, due to chinese characters in the delta version.:(
    http://www.shsforums.net/index.php?showtopic=34232&st=0#entry398247

At the bottom are a bunch of overpowered items you have to cheat into the game. Find them at: http://sol.usc.edu/~bbellina/downloads/
(they're listed in the middle of the webpage)
I checked them out, but never used them. {update: i did in Heart of Fury chapter 6, they're not that overpowered in HoF, actually} WARNING: Don't select the Pocket Transmuter or Crate of Planar Rest when you're in the store screen or the game will crash - makes sense: You'd be selling a store and an inn to a store!

I've been playing IWD2 for years now, and have been recreating my party too many times to remember. I love the choices you get when leveling characters, and started writing detailed description of my choices. Now I've got a 40-page  wordfile that I think contains many useful insights into the game, from weapon choices, skill point picks, to mod installation order.
Even if you won't recreate my party, it gives you tips to improve your own party. My CharCreaTips.doc can be downloaded here (IWD2_4dummies.rar):
    http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/dl.php?s=IWD2&f=IWD2/IWD2-4dummies.zip

Almost forgot to mention the IWD2NPC project:
    http://www.gibberlings3.net/iwd2npc
I didn't use this myself, as character creation and leveling choices (with powergaming in mind) is my favourite aspect of the game.

The following "IWD2 Tweaks" should be installed with care, as it's a non-weidu mod that introduces a large number of changes, some of which may be unwelcome to you. Read what the thread says before downloading. Looking over the files with NearInfinity is highly reccommended; then you know which changes you're dropping into Override folder.
    http://www.baldursgatemods.com/forums/index.php?topic=6803.0
If I were to create a ranking system for mod installation difficulty, IWD2 Tweaks would be ranked "Expert-only", due to the amount of effort you must perform in order to get exactly what you want out of this one. There are a few mods that need a little care when installing (Ease-of-use doesn't do its name justice), but the only other mod that I'd consider expert-only, is Icewind Gate 2 conversion.

Below is my weidu log, this install order allows you to play all mods I could find in working order. if you install Ease-of-use's Improved Holy Avenger component AFTER Light of Selune, you won't have to worry about the Cera Sumat sword 13WIS restriction.
A new druid spell, Magic Circle against Evil, can be memorized, but not cast.

If you try to install IWG2 AFTER all this, it will work, but I couldn't use any of the spells added to the
    druid book - they're still there, but became uncastable. :( No one has any idea how to fix this yet, and I doubt W. Weimer has time. Until I find out how to give my druid back his mojo, I'm only playing the Baldur's Gate megamod. {update: I solved this problem by altering the LISTSPLL.2DA that IWG2 overwrites, and replacing it in the Override folder. Altered file is included in IWD2_4dummies}

3 'mods' alter the IWD2.exe file and not the WeiDU log. These can be installed at any point during the WeiDU installation I think, but in the following order:
First the newest Customdll patch, alter the settings first to your liking. Then the Level 40 XP patcher, so it takes precedence over the customdll component, just to be on the safe side. Lastly the no-cd crack for IWD2, both other patches won't work if you run the no-cd beforehand. I haven't linked the no-cd crack here, this is mainly because many modders are opposed to this sort of thing (it promotes 'piracy'). I'm afraid they will report abuse to the site that hosts it :(. To find the no-cd crack, look for the link in my "install order for IWD2 mods" file in IWD2_4dummies.

Additional Druid Spells is last here because I tried to get it to work by installing AFTER Weimer's Icewind Gate 2, but this results in crashes upon loading. So I just re-ran IWG2.exe and it re-installed at the end.

That requires you to register in order to download the attachment, which is annoying. Any chance you could put a copy elsewhere? :)

Spellhold is more open, in this regard. (Heh. Ironic, considering the name.) Thanks, got it!

We have a few submission guidelines to adhere to and you don't upload the files directly to the forums. You should also get in touch with MindChild regarding your modification of his work.

:oYour right of course, I promptly sent him a message asking for permission. If he objects, it's easily removed.
I haven't really modified his work, it's mainly to offer a solution for 32bit PC users, as the fix won't work on their PCs. I'll try to get permission.

If he's OK with it, I'll offer the zip as a submission, otherwise the incomplete version will have to do. I just finished the readme to be added.

BiG World Project for the Baldur's Gate Trilogy

    :D:D:D:D:p:D:D;):D:D:)

    WOOOOOOOOOHAAHHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!!

    You are joking, right?

A guy in germany, Leonardo Watson, made a list of all the mods for the Baldur's Gate Trilogy. He listed 260 mods!
Download his pdf-file and related files here:
    http://www.shsforums.net/index.php?autocom=downloads&showcat=72

    Here's his english forum:
    http://www.shsforums.net/index.php?showtopic=29916
    The latest version.

He made a link-list for all the mods too:

I wouldn't know how to begin such a list, because the material is so vast, and compatibility problems require more insight into the workings of mods than I have.

His express-installer didn't work for me: It went awry early on, when Neverending Journey didn't install with required updates. The install continues (express install took about 14hrs for me), but half the mods wouldn't install.

If it comes down to it, you'll have to install the mods yourself with the pdf-manual at hand. My install took weeks to figure out, but I didn't have the pdf with all the good advice.

TIP: don't install too many NPC mods, as the soundsfiles in Override folder will cause significant slowdown.

[IMG] I'll sticky this... just FYI, the links here mostly go directly to the mod's download pages, but important information maybe be contained on the pages with the mod descriptions, so it's a good idea to check SP directly first.

The improved initiative fix definitely doesnt work in the german version(and, i assume, in other foreign versions too) and definitely does work in the english version. That potion can be added to the inventory regularly via Dalekeeper(no need for all the console voodoo)

[IMG] coineineagh props on the sticky.. nicely done!

...know me, i crawled the net lookin for mods myself, and all over SP before coming here to the nexus of IWD2 mods...:) (infact i ran across the old post you left on MindChild s DLL fix before i got here) like i said, nice to see something dedicated after trudging though intertwined IE mods with lil or no description to them...

but i think, unless i miss my mark, and i may well have, that you left out the link to Icewind Dale II Tweak Pack both here and in your IWD2 4dummies..

sorry if im mistaken, but i'd rather help point ppl in the right direction, and ether way, excelent work!!

Thanks for the appreciation, and for the heads up! My modlist post has been adjusted accordingly. So embarassing that this oversight went unnoticed for a yearr and a half:o.

Coin, I just tested the MCaEvil change made thru my LoS mod, and it casts just fine by both NG and NE pure druids.

And I've just checked the Ease of Use mod's section on "new druid spells" and have discovered that that's where your problem resides. The Light of Selune mod tweaks the spellcasting lists by editting the LISTSPLL.2DA file, but the Ease of Use mod "simply" has a pre-editted version of the LISTSPLL.2DA file that overwrites the existing version... which also happens to overwrite my LoS editted version of the file as well.

And the reason that the EoU's version doesn't work is that the MCaEvil is not activated for druids even in its supposedly editted LISTSPLL.2DA file.

    A. The rev 1 restrictions were not "crippling". They were entirely legal according the the 3.5ed rules. However, I went in different direction in LOS rev 2, and made the talking skills to be 1pt skills for all classes. I really wish that you'd remove this comment as it's outdated. There's nothing in the class upgrades section that could be construed to be "restricting" in the least.

    B. As I've stated before, the WIS requirement on Cera Sumat is to prevent it being used by paladin-wannabe's as a spell resistance "shield". The Holy Avenger is supposed to be a WEAPON for paladins true ... not a shield for wannabes.

Regardless, your suggested workaround won't work in the next rev of LoS ... assuming that I ever get it done, that is.

Not everyone plays the same kind of game, and the simple fact is, that this restriction was not part of the original sword. People who barely managed to install the mods using my guide, might get frustrated:mad: by this new handicap (and may not know which mod it comes from, or how to get rid of it:wail:). To avoid such setbacks to cause people to abandon mods altogether, and start with a clean install, I chose to make people aware of it.
The sword is an important part of the game, and some people may be relying on it. It's your right to include whatever you like in your mod, and you're free to influence users by showing them how you think they should play their game. I simply foresee difficulties for powergamers, who are just getting the hang of mods.:o

Since this thread was stickied, you're right about the comment: It's irresponsible for me to state my dislike of your mod component in what is supposed to be an objective mod list. My apologies, I'll alter the statement. An update ofmy guide is still a while away, though, so it will be unchanged in there.

Well, I guess that I think that the game is more enjoyable if people try to minimize the amount of metagaming. That's what so great about the standard random treasure functionality. I think that it's just better to limit your planning to the things you "should" really know about, i.e. how your character can advance, and not things like knowing where every single item will be.

I suppose that I could make things a little easier and list the stat requirements for those items that have them. (Items with race and class usage limitations have those limitations automatically listed, IIRC.)

I don't mind you or anyone else including opinions, though I suppose that you're correct about including them in a stickied list of mods, etc. My concern was more about trying to keep the list current to the revision of the mod listed.

For example, this is a portion of your newly (and nicely) edited blurb on LoS:

The sentence in BOLD is no longer true... wait a sec... now I'm confused... what do you mean by "cross-class"? Do you mean 2 SP or 1 SP? IIRC, in LOS rev 2 there are no skills that went from 1 SP to 2 SP, only from 2 to 1.

I have no problem with the statement on altering existing items. It's exactly accurate. There are a number of altered items.

Frankly, the vast majority of "altered" items were altered simply to tweak one of the weapons major effects. I tweaked 3 or 4 of the damaging effects to make them more useful (and thus, a little more powerful), such as the wounding, venom, and vampiric effects.

There were a number of other items that were either too powerful or too weak for their location. In some cases, I weakened a too powerful weapon. In other cases, I moved too weak items earlier into the game to a location where they'd would no longer be too weak.

Cera Sumat's usage limitations do include a WIS of 13 (and, IIRC, a STR req of 16). There are also certain other weapons that were given usage requirements, such as Sherincal's nasty greatsword is evil only, IIRC. And the greatswords used by the Slayer Knights were also tweaked to be Evil-only, IIRC.

LoS adds a Str req as well? Crap! My Pally is an Elf with Str 14 and I'm about to enter Kuldahar. Does his Base Str need to be 16 or can it be a Modified Str of 16 from an Item and/or Spell? If it is his base Str, my whole run through is screwed.

BoV, IIRC, all items that have stat requirements are based on the modified stat, not the unmodified stat.

And remember that the version of Cera Sumat in rev's 1 and 2 of LOS are greatswords, not long swords, and rather massive greatswords at that (i.e. with a base damage of 2d8, rather than 1d12).

BTW, this is the sort of thing I mean by metagaming a party or a character. You were making plans based on foreknowledge of a given item.

Anyways, if you have a problem getting enough STR for your pally, you could either cast Bull's Strength on him constantly, or perhaps use Dalekeeper2 to bump up the STR to 16. I suppose that you could also use the version of CS from the EoU mod, though it's nowhere near as powerful (IIRC) as the LOS version.

When or if I finally release rev 3 of LOS, it will have a randomized holy avenger which will make any metagaming foreknowledge pointless, unless one is willing to fight the Lost Followers battle repeatedly to try to get the version you like, or one knows the underlying item codes for each version, and cheats in the sword type one wants.... For whatever it's worth, I intend to have different stat requirements for the different versions of Cera Sumat. That is, the greatsword will continue to be a massive weapon, requiring fairly high STR, but the longsword version will probably have a rather lower STR req, but with commensurately lower power. The WIS requirement will likely remain as is (i.e. at WIS 13) to prevent too much cheesing of the sword, though it's also possible that I could reduce the WIS req but at the same time remove the spell resistance effect. I simply do not like the idea that this great and holy weapon is used as nothing more than a "spell shield" by pally wannabe sorcerers.

Actually, yes I was!:) But only because I have played the game thru a few times. Sometimes i play thru to find everything the game has to offer and sometimes I play thru to roleplay the game like it was the 1st time. But a 14 Str Pally is not a powergamed character in my book. In this case, it is a replica of a PnP character in a campaign I use to run. The whole party is in fact. But a different version for the longsword would be sweet(and a nice touch to, great thinking!:)).

If it is the modified the stat, then no worries, Bull's Strength it is! What happens when it wears off. It will stay equiped, correct?

Have you considered maybe a Cha requirement instead. Not all Pally's have or need high Str scores. All benefit from the CHA. I have played Halfling and Gnome Pallys and never use a maxed out STR score with them. That is not why they are created. I use them as defenders of the party, with high ACs and Saving Throws. Pallys can have a variety of functions, not just Super-Tank ability.

I don't think that it would get dropped from the slot, but I'm not sure if you could select it if you select another weapon. Just don't know.

Actually, a CHA requirement is actually 180* out of sync with the point of the requirements in the first place. I'm trying to prevent the Holy Avenger from being a cheesey Sorc X/Pally 1 "spell shield". And a CHA prereq would be utterly useless towards preventing this, since any mildly decent sorc would meet this prereq.

I agree that some pallies might not have such high STR's. But the current LOS version of Cera Sumat is a massive greatsword which isn't meant for use by lower strength pallies.

And BTW, I fully agree that a 14 STR pally is most certainly not a powergamed character. I've played such a pally before also. (Not sure that it was only 14 STR ... she may have had 16 STR, but she was an elven pally of Mystra who didn't have a max STR, and did have a DEX of 14. A chain mail, bow and longsword-using, elven pally.)
