[IMG] 1.ok when does Jaheira's romance acctually start? I've heard from some people that it starts as soon as you're out of the dungeon, but from others I've heard that it starts as soon as you side with either Bodhi or the Shadow Thieves?

    2. Which romance is most fulfilling, Jaheira or Anomen.

    3. If the expanded thief stronghold a lot better? And is the thief stronghold even worth getting because you're constantly going to loose it when you go adventuring.

    4. I am thinking about making a character like Arwen and Galadriel from Lord of the rings. What possible classes could I use?

    5. If i'm a m/c fighter/druid will I be able to reach 14th level for the druid grove?

6.And i've tried to find the XP cap remover but I only found on for ToB. Could someone please provide a link to one for SoA.

    Thanks in advance! :p

    1) Jaheira's romance won't start until you're in chapter 2, which doesn't officially start until you speak with Gaelan. Since you've mentioned "Jaheira" and "romance" within 10 words of each other, Beren should drop by shortly. :D

    2) Never romanced Annoyman, don't know.

    3) The deadlines for the payments are a lot more flexible than folks realize, so you're probably not as likely to lose it as you may think (plus you can get it back for a fee if you do lose it). It generates money quickly compared to the other strongholds. I liked the idea behind the expanded thief stringhold, but I found some loopholes that made it cheesy IMHO.

    4) F/C and sorceress, I suppose.

    5) Yep, that's Jaheira's class and she regularly reaches those levels in a six-person party (even though she can't take the grove).

    6) Ease-of-use has one.

    He's a good lad is this CamDawg ;) .

If he doesn't know it, it's not worth knowing :thumb:

He's right on all things. I would say Jahiera's romance is much better than Annoymans. Mr Delryns romance seems abit rushed and incomplete. Almost like they hastily shoved in a romance for female players right before release. I mean AS IF!

    1) It starts properly in CH2, as CamDawg said, but the romance dialogs do seem to start in the first dungeon. If you keep on at Jaheira about raising Khalid, then it can ruin the romance before its even really begun.

    2) Jaheira is the most complex and most frustrating of all of them.

    5) You will easily reach 14th level. 15th is much harder and this is when you get all the great bonuses.

    5. Actually, you WON'T reach 14th level multiclass druid in vanilla SoA. Exp cap=2.95 million, thus max multiclass exp=1.475 million. 14 level druid comes at 1.5 million, so while it's close, you'll never get there.

    6. As CamDawg said, Ease-of-Use has an exp cap remover.

If the Trading Card Game is any reference, Arwen should be some kind of Ranger (maybe multiclassed to cleric, a friend of mine is playing her that way). I agree that you should take some kind of pure spellcaster for Galadriel though I'd probably choose Mage/Cleric multiclass (like Aerie but with better stats)

As a side note, I have had one game in which the first romance talk for Jaheira (the first one after you reach chapter 2) happened in Irenicus' dungeon but I think it was a bug since I was never able to repeat it in any other game.

I read somewhere that the romance doesn't start if you don't accept Gaelan's proposal, even though you can still work for Bhody later.

    1. It's scripted somewhere that there is no possible romancing in chapter 1. So, it would start as soon as you listen to Gaelan's initial proposal.

    2. I am almost done with Anomen's romance, and I am in the middle (about) of Jaheira's. I LOVED Anomen's romance; I think he is SUCH a cutie, and he's so sweet! I also really like what I see so far of Jaheira's though. I think they are both about equally 'fulfilling', it just depends on what kind of romance you want. If you want a sweetie that you can really grow to love and who you just wanna hug all the time, Anomen's is for you. But if you're more into the evolution of the romance and psychology of the characters, you'd prefer Jaheira's. Not to say that either one is lacking in the other department.

    3. The thief stronghold needs you to visit it every 5 days, so you can probably still attend to it while adventuring. Haven't tried the expanded one...

    4. I would say cleric or cleric/mage.

    5. I don't see why not. 2.95 million is the cap for a class.

No, it is the cap for total experience so in case of a multiclass (or even a dual class) you have to total the experience of all the classes of the character and that can't go above the exp cap.

You can't m/c Fighter/Druid to reach 14th Level, but you can dual class and get the next best thing: Dual Class. Play as a fighter until you reach level (1.2M XP), then Dual to Druid, and you will unlitmately become a 12/14th level Fighter druid. You won't get your Fighter abilities back until late in the game, but when you do you will be quite powerful.

If you adventure solo, you will acheive this quite quickly. If you travel with a party, though, you may wish to dual earlier in order to regain the lost abilities sooner.

If you wanted to make a true Galadriel from Lord of the Rings, she'd be way too powerful. But as a young Galadriel, centuries before LOTR takes place, it could work. I'd make her a cleric/mage.

I think Arwen would be a good ranger or fighter/druid. I lean toward the latter, because of the scene in Fellowship with the water horses.

Well, in the book Arwen never created the horses, it was Elrond and Gandalf who did it. And I would consider her to be more of a fighter/mage.

And I think Galadriel would be a cleric/mage, but more divinations in her spell book than anything else because of he mirror.

I'd agree with Camdawg and say Galadriel would best be portrayed as a sorceress and I think Arwen definitely has the makings of a fighter/druid.

Most of the powerful elves in middle earth had arcane and healing powers, there was no real distinction between the two. I think Galadriel would be a Cleric/Mage, but extremely high level as she was one of the few elves to have actually seen the light of valinor.

Arwen is a different matter. I don't recall much about her in the books (the film makes more of her than the books). I don't think she was much of a fighter, certainly not a sorceress and not a druid either. Not in the strictest sense anyway. As an elf she would have learnt fighting skills, she'd have an inherent magic ability and probably would have learnt some healing from elrond. I'd have said more of a mage/thief or cleric/thief.

I had forgotten about the XP cap in SoA, sorry about that. To much ease-of-use is bad for the noggin.

The whole LotR party discussion could probably be a thread of its own. :) Bard is right, magic is treated differently in the LotR books than magic in BG2. I wouold describe most of the elven magic in LotR as more druidic than anything, but everyone has a different take. I do like the ranger/cleric Arwen idea. At best we can approximate the characters and argue endlessly about the tradeoffs. :p
