    Hello everyone,

This is for any Icelandic board members, if there are any, and anyone who has maybe been to Iceland and has experience as a tourist there.

My family and I will be doing a one day lay over in Iceland on our way to visit my wife's family in France this summer. Here are my questions:

    1. We want to go on one of the whale watching boat trips. Is the beginning of July a good time to do that? Are there whales in Icelandic waters in July?

    2. Do you have any recommendations for a one night stay in Reykjavik? Of course on the internet there are hundreds of possibilities in all price ranges, from 5 star hotels to bed and breakfasts. We're looking for as reasonable as we can get, but not youth hostel style. We are two adults and two daughters (9 and 12).

    Thanks for any tips.

i've got a friend from iceland, and while he didn't know about the questions you asked, he said if he should recommend anything it would be to take a trip out to the tundra up there, it should be awesome, make sure you have a guide with you though, and a good 4WD car as there are quite a few very deep cracks in the ice, and you could easily drive into one of them on our own
