A Different Solo Question

    I like soloing for all of its challenges. I am thinking of starting another solo game. I think I want to use a kensai. So I might want to do a dc kensai/thief or dc kensai/mage.

    Which do you think is better? I am leaning towards the thief but I'm not sure.

    Does anybody have experience with a dc kensai/thief?

    Any helpful suggestions?

    doing the game without a thief, that sounds like something I can imagine will be a long series of pain :)

    traps and especially locks

    Well it's hard playing without thief for you can't open locks/detect & remove traps, but without a mage it's also hard for you can't dispel protections etc. on enemies. They really should make it possible to play Kensai/Thief/Mage or maybe another good option is to play with 2 people, A Kensai and Imoen, a thief/mage. For you're both in the same situation in the game and you're family so maybe that's also a cool idea.

    Mage has the spell knock; opens locks/chests sometimes better than a thief. Thieves are way overrated in this game, and they aren't crucial to suceeding. If anything, they make it too easy.

    It easyer to be a kensai/mage. You can knock, and you can avoid the traps (stonescin, mirror image, protection from XXX, spell immunity). You won't be able to backstab, but you also won't be able to backstab with mage/thief since you can't backstab with a staff (and you'll wanna use the Staff of Magi, right?).

    kensai mage.... spells can make up for ur thief anyday.. besides... if ur going solo.. ull get experience way fast.. so u can get higher level kensai or mage before u go dual... then u get more options

    Although if you ask me you should go for a pure Kensai. You can use the SKeeper to add knock to your speciall abillities.

    Go for the Kensai/mage, you can open locks and absorb the traps with your spell protections and high HP, good luck!
