    [​IMG] I just want to know what the main difference is between normal and AD&D rules difficulty, I thought the game had all the rules anyway, even in novice, sorry if this is a weird or stupid question (doing alot of apologising today)

    I presume you're talking about the difficulty slider in game options?
    Hehe, no need to apologize, really. These boards are here primarily to provide info.

    If the slider is what you're asking about, then moving it lower towards easy will make the monsters easier for you to hit (less hitpoints, less protection) and whenever they'll hit you they'll do much less damage than they normally would.
    That's basically all moving the slider up or down does. If you move it to harder, just reverse what I just said.

    thanks for that, should have made the question clearer, are all the rules in normal, if they are why have an extra AD&D choice or is it just strength of attack that is affected, I've noticed (I'm playing it in mid difficulty) that mages sometimes don't copy spells successfully in mid diff. that didn't happen in normal (normal as in configuration menu that is) maybe I'll just shut up now :p

    there are a few changes that apply if you do reduce the difficulty of the game. when you move the slider below the Core Rules setting, the game will be easier. the monsters are easier to fight, as Taluntain mentioned, and you get Max Hit Points per level, but there is an experience point penalty for doing so. basicly you will earn less X.P. for your efforts.

    on the other hand if you go above Core Rules, the game just gets harder as mentioned above, but you will not earn extra X.P. for your troubles.

    forgot to mention the fact that mages will not fail when learning a new spell if you go below Core Rules.
