[IMG] Do stat benefits like stoneskin etc apply to mislead, project image, simulacrum decoys?

Does Improved Haste stack with boots of speed?

What is the best weapon for backstabbing, considering that all bonus damages are inflicted at maximum rolls? (eg: Dagger of The Star or Celestial Fury's bonus damage kicks in during backstab)

Does having single weapon style result in lower damage and/or fewer attacks per round?

Stoneskin does not apply to your mislead, etc etc.

The speed doesn't stack with it I believe, but you still get the double attacks per round.

I assume it would be the Holy Avenger if you can backstab with it, it not, then probaly one that increases your backstab multiplier. The name of any escapes me at the moment, but I am pretty sure there are some in the game.

Single weapon style gives you no extra attack per round. It increases your AC, and doubles the chance you will get a critical hit. No style can give you an extra attack, except maybe two handed style, becase it decreases the speed factor of the weapon. Combine that with a Kensai and you may get an undocumented extra attack every couple rounds.

Your mislead does not have any of the protections that your character has.

The best backstabbing weapons are generally katanas, because of the D10 base damage. However, in TOB, the Staff Of The Ram is the best backstab weapon. If you're not comfortable with the idea of "backstabbing" with a staff, think of it instead as a blow to the base of the skull or the kidneys.

From my own observations, improved haste does stack with Boots of Speed. Your characters move quite fast wearing Boots of Speed; cast Improved Haste as well and they move super-fast.

I'm pretty sure weapon speed is used to determine who attacks first in a round and is unrelated to the number of attacks.

You can't backstab with Carsomyr; only weapons usable by pure-class thieves (without UAI) can backstab. The short sword of backstabbing would probably give you the best damage, since it increases your backstab multiple, but I can never remember if it's in unmodded BG2 or if it's in my standard package of installed mods. :) Otherwise I'm with Chris; katanas are the way to go.

I'm pretty sure Boots of Speed and Improved Haste do stack: I made a weapons that grants improved haste, and while equipping it with boots of speed I practically flew across the screen.

I imagine if you got Celestial Fury's extra 20 damage on a backstab you'd get some absolutely huge damage.

This is the second time I've seen reference to extra attacks and weapon speed. It would seem to imply that, if weapon speed becomes negative due to speed bouses, then you get an extra attack. Is this true? I didn't think speed and # of attacks were related.

Boots of Speed and Haste (I don't think it needs to be Improved) definitely stack for determining movement speed.

He he, I don't mean to be greedy, but will more than one Imp. Haste stack? The attacks I mean...

A Blade Dual-Weilding Belm +2 and the Scarlet Ninja to +3 (use any item)+ Improved Haste (has wicked duration and amazing doubled attacks) + Tensor's Transformation = dead everything...!!

Improved haste does not stack. You can add offensive spin to your improved haste, though. I can't remember offhand whether this adds one attack or two (given that improved haste doubles attacks). If you've kept it, Blackrazor is an excellent weapon in the main hand with the Scarlet Ninja-to in the offhand (one less attack, but Blackrazor drains levels and increases your strength).

You can do it using the game engine editor i think. Not sure though, never done it myself.

Think this is what you could use

Maybe Rastor Camdawg or somebody could let you know :)

NI is my item/spell/creature hacker of choice. Neeraj, send me an idea for your overpowered weapon and I'll see what I can do.

Boots of Speed and Improved Haste stack, but the boots only grant you a movement bonus so you're not getting extra attacks, only movement speed.

Regarding weapon speed, even if you get it below zero, I'm 95% sure you don't get an extra attack. I believe weapon speed only factors into initiative, which determines who strikes first in a round. I've heard BG2 uses a different form of initiative than PnP since it's not a strict turn-based system, though I don't know for sure.

[IMG] Thanks alot Morsmordre and CamDawg!

Ummm.....Ummm.....CamDawg I really don't have any ideas for BG! But if I ever do, or if I get lost using NI (thanks again Mors!), I'll be sure to ask you and everybody on the board!

    Only a little :yot:

Ummmm...can we import BG weapons to IWD or NWN? That would be awsome! And can we even use Shadowkeeper or something to import our PC's and Minsc, Jaheira and Aarie to IWD or NWN?

I used DLTCEP to make my weapons; it's quite easy I think.

IWD probably, since they use the same engine, IWDII I don't think so. NWN uses a different engine so no.

I'm pretty sure that the NPC project is impossible. Though in IWD you could create a druid/fighter with Jaheira's stats and portrait I suppose...

DLTCEP is by far the most capable (and compatible) editor out there, but I've never been able to get it to work. NI is nice, but you could also use IEEP if you're so inclined.

Any of those editors will function with both IWDs and PST as well (IEEP might not. I'm not sure if it's been updated recently).

Thanks for the link Rastor :) .

I have a question though. Say I figure out how to use one of these editors and make a weapon. How do I put it in the game? Can you designate a store that can sell it? Or select a chest/whatever that it can be in? In other words, how do you put created weapons into BG2?

    This is purely curiosity ^^

To put it in the game WeiDU is the way to go. After creating an item, you could add it to a store with probably less than 10 lines of code.

You can also console it in if you don't want to edit a store. I haven't quite got that far yet.

IEEP will do IWD and PST items.
