I've started a new game. Nothing special about it except one thing. My PC name is Felinoid. I will venture through the world of BG as an all knowing SP Account Holder. Wootles!

    Well I'm a bard, so...

TBH, I'm wondering if I should proud of the honor, or skeptical of sarcasm. :hmm:

Well, Fel, you're not the first, as I had a game in NWN playing a Barbarian/Weapon Master named Klorox. I guess you should be honored.

I actually haven't thought about what class. Currently it's a Kensai going to be dual'd into... something... and I did it 'cause the first name that came to mind while creating the character was Felinoid. You're everywhere on the forums so I can't get your name out of head when I think Baldur's Gate lol.

Ah, a little of both, huh? Well, dualling to mage would be close enough, or maybe a thief. Then again, those are the two most popular options, so I'm probably not saying anything you weren't already going to do. :shake:

Hey now... easy!!! I'm actually going Kensai -> mage and hoping you can use two-handed swords when you dual into a mage o_o. No worries, I may or may not restart as a CN Bard just for youuuu. :p

Yeah, a Kensai->Mage can use two-handed swords as any Kensai can, but not just after the dual before you regain your Kensai abilities. You'll have to wait, but it'll come back; in the meantime, you can grab a staff or something. And really, I'd recommend CG instead of CN, because Azuredge can be pretty damn powerful in the hands of a Kensai (it's one of the few missile weapons they can use).

Lol, that's okay, I'm not looking to power-game :p . My thoughts were I can learn to use two-handed weapons with great proficiency which means, 5 slots in two-handed sword, 2-slots in two handed weapon style, and 1 slot in staff, (since mage can only have one there... blech). Staff of the magi and Soul Reaver(if I go evil) or silver sword? :) :)

Well, I prefer Harbinger (BOOM! ), but the ones you named are really good too. It's pretty hard to choose between the two, but a CN character can use both; you don't need to be evil to use Soul Reaver, just not good. The Psion Blade in ToB is decent too. (Carsomyr is the first thing you think of naturally, but a K->M isn't going to be able to use it. :( )

Wait, why are you putting a slot in staff? You'll probably want that to be the first thing you pick once you dual, so it'd go to waste if you picked it as a Kensai. Then again, I guess I'm assuming you're going to level 13 for the extra half-attack, instead of 9 just for the HP. Hmm, well if you only go to lvl 9, you'll get 7 profs and use them, followed by dualling and staff prof. But if you go to lvl 13, you should pick something other than staff for that eighth prof so it doesn't get wasted. Don't know what you might make it, though...

BTW, what party are you going with? Or are you going solo?

Shapeshifter -- modify the lycanthropy to weretiger and use the rakshasa as the sprite.

I'm sure someone around here could do that....

I was planning on taking staff as a mage, that's why I said only one point, because that's all a mage can handle.

If I get an extra prof slot going to 13, which I might do... I might put it in Halb. Not sure what a good two-handed weapon is besides swords.

As for the party I've got no ide,a I usually just play the game and pick up people I like along the way. I'm definately going to Pick Edwin... because he's awesome. Not sure about Immy, although she'd be the only thief around, I hate her thieving skills, and I rarely need two mages. I'll grab Keldorn probably throw in Anomen, 'cause clerics are needed and the last slot would have to go to Imoen, just because.

    So.. party would be?

PC K->M (never actually played this before)
    Yoshimoen
    Edwin
    Keldorn
    Anomen.

Forget YoshImoen and bring in Jan and Minsc; no party is complete without Jan and Minsc! Besides, Jan's thieving skills can keep increasing, and you've got all the mage you need between Edwin and the PC. Or, you could go with a mod NPC that's a thief; off the top of my head I can think of Alora, Fade, and Valen. Alora's a swashbuckler, and Fade and Valen are "side specific" (Fade is with the Shadow Thieves, Valen is with Bodhi) but you can romance them (not sure about Valen, but I know you can romance Fade).

Hmmm...I did something similar waaaaay back in time when we still had many of our older members still active.

    My party consisted of:

Kitrax - Generic fighter (that was before I had my current avatar.)
    Extremist - Barbarian
Mathetais - Cleric (worshiped Lathander IIRC)
Dmc - Bounty Hunter (He *is* a lawyer in real life...)
    Master of Nuhn - Cleric/Mage
8people - Cavalier (quite good with a sword)

Maybe one of these days I'll make a new SP party with the newer members that have come to fruition. :shake: :rolling:

I don't really like MInsc. I've played with him almost everytime but his proficiencies p*ss me off.... A LOT. He should be dual wielding maces and hammers not trying to go mace/2handed sword... ugh.. stupid...

His dialogue rocks. Never played with Jan, so I'll give him a shot.

    As it looks now:

    PC K->M (CN)
    Jan
    Edwin
    Anomen
    Keldorn
    possibly Minsc.

I'm not looking for a full 6 players necessarily, but I usually do play with 6.

Take Korgan. I hear that Jan and Korgan get a few talks going. He has strength that is only a little off of what Misnc's is. He still Rages. And you don't have to listen to minsc's endless babble.

Jan is one of the most useful additions to any party, good or evil. He does prattle a bit, though.

Korgan with Anomen and Keldorn? That will cause problems unless the mod that cuts out NPC conflicts is installed. I never use it.

Edwin, Korgan and Jan together are great fun.
