A Hall of Shame

Perhaps this idea has already been floated, but I'd like to see a hall of shame -- the names of all the people banned and the date of banning, the reason for the ban, and a funny comment from Tal -- that would be great! Of course, everyone comes up with great ideas that mean more work for Tal, so I doubt this will ever happen, but it's a funny thought!

 

If you give the mighty sorcerer too much work, the #1 name on the list will be, "Lord Keldin Depaara" j/k

Honestly, I think this could be fun, but instead of banned folk, we could post "shameful/embarassing" quotes from the boards and chat room.

Like me calling 8people a boy, then someone else calling her a cannibal.

Or that one time Shura wrote a story about Shura (j/k)

 

Or me telling Apeman that the rest of the G:tToEE Part 2 was on the next page, when it wasn't.

 

I could think of a few glorious examples of grammatical moronity followed by general retardation especially in the fields of linking and logic.

In all fairness, we'd have to mention "Boo the Great," who alone deserves his own section. That alone would take Tal a decade to compile. Please, think of poor Tal.

On a serious note - I too am afraid I would appear on it too often for my liking.

 

You mean all subsequent incarnations of Boo the Great who I'm sure is with us even now?

I suppose Drunken Poster League will enter the Hall viritim.

 

On one hand that would be pretty funny. Especially with boo the great. He had something funny to him (grammar ?). And I am always relieved, that someone's English is worse then mine.

On the other hand, shortly before I joined happened some rule-violations, which shouldn't be remembered, I think. And a big part of rule-violatoins are just boring and not worth the fuss. And thenI am afraid, I'd end on the hall of shame. So, it shouldn't exist.

 

Not only Boo the Great (aka Alloas From Hawai) should get his own section. Have you already forgot IaaA?? He was THE biggest idiot ever here. Beats Boo the Great with great distance.

Anyhow, I like the idea. Something different from the norm.

Don't we all though? Mostly the people who want to get in a "hall of shame" but still...

 

Now, would this theoretical list be full of people who've done stupid things, or just those who were banned? I was never banned, (duh) but I did join the legions of Newbies who've created topics asking questions answered in the FAQ a while back. (If that sentence didn't make sense to you, try reading it again.)


And btw, Tal, not that I am an admin or anything, far from it, but a list of banned people and their IPs, even if it was just accessible to you, would be pretty useful if they tried to create more personas.

(Is IP the individual number that refers to your computer?)

The hall of shame would probably just be a topic wouldn't it. And if people got banned or broke rules or were perposefully annoying they wouldn't get onto it. Then they'd get no glory from being kicked out.

 

Public banlist would serve no good. They know they're banned and displaying all their aliases would only encourage them to create more and more of them in form of a sick competition... Brrr...

There's also no need to let people know the banned people's IPs. Just imagine people nuking them etc. It's enough that the moderators have the list of their favourite numbers
