A newbies outlook on things closed

First off, it is great to be a newbie. Now that that is out of the way, Iwould like to have a chance to help resurrect The Never Ending Story.
Truthfully, that was one of the things that caught my eye, and kept me laughing out loud like a mad man for some time. So I thought of how I could add a sentence to it. Except you can only add if you are registered, no problem, I guess I'll have to register. Hmmm... Closed Topic.
Then I see a thread asking if it should be revived, but I was too late, the slayer of threads had gotten there before me, not even able to take the poll. I feel that if enough people are still intrested, like say four, then let it live.
Like I said I'm new. So for all those visitors/guests or recently registered members who are going around watching but to shy to post anything, I think this would be a grreat time to share your thoughts, as newbies. Also anything from veterans as well. Thank You.

 

Hints to the newbies:

1) Read the FaQ and the Rules
2) Dont go thinking about freedom of speech here, we don´t really got that, and we are quite happy with that, this saying because we just had a revolution-hero-wannabe

Thank You for the advice. For the most part I like this Place. Though I do wonder if suggestions are really warranted.

From what you said it smells like hint of fear surround this subject. That's the way a Master should run things.

 

Not really. The boards are just kept in order. The more time you'll spend here the more you'll appreciate that. Certain threads are being closed, yes, but not because of opinions expressed in them. Shall we say, you are free to express your opinion, but in a civil and sensible way. Just read the rules. It's all described there.

 

Understandable. What if one Person gives an ending to the problematic story, Like the original author. Then no one else could question the finality, and it could be turned into something that would be in the spirit of what it could/should have been. Just a suggestion.

 

SP can often turn into a dictatorship, and when this happens, well, blurgh. If you thought the Never Ending Story was funny, you should see the One Word Story. Its even better, and pretty much everyone but the mods agree on that. But there is no hope in ressurecting this, the mods are against us. Though if you know of anywhere else we could have one...

 

Nope, can't think of anything. Though I am intrested enough to find one. Or start something similar somwhere else, more appropriate for the lack of levels of maturity. Possibly later being made as secretive refrences or blantent ones, your pick in Asscociated forumns. I have a AOL AIM ACCOUNT, in my profile next to AIM IP, the name there is it. It is very close to my birth name. Any Ideas would be most welcomed.
To the Moderators, I mean no disrespect at all. I only suggest this because from what I sense this is a touchy if not stagnant issue, and I believe any more mention of this could bring more unwanted negative attention to myself. Something that I can do without.

Not so seriously though, what else , what are some oter reasons Threads would be closed. Some examples would be nice. Especially the extreme cases.

 

Check topics started by IaaA?, a lot of them have anti-Tal propaganda, therefore he was banished to the weekly kingdom of "Idiot of the Week" and never returned,

 

Poor, poor, poor, Idiot!. You think with a name like that he wouldn't really have been able to complicate things as much as he tried.

So what are some other less common reason of colsing topics or for that matter banning?

I don't plan on repeating any past mistakes, any of these things would be helpful to know, for myself, and others who mgiht not have known better.

Because "Ignorance of the Law is no excuse" . I can hear any moderator saying this. "I am the Law!"

 

Go to any of the forums and choose all the topics from the pull down menu. Go through and look for all the topics that have been closed in the past. You'll get a pretty good idea there!

 

GreyCrow, if you want to have fun stories on the fly, then follow the good advice from BTA. Use the chat. In sorcerer's place chat you can make all the amazing stories you like and in live action too. Heck you can save the log file to your computer, if you treasure it.

Why do you even want to bring it on forum posts? Is it because you want other's to know you can have fun... This is like making a written copy of your last party and sending it to the newspaper, while calling it dictatorship if they didn't post the incoherrent speech, which seemed fun at the time.

Evryone has a freedom of speech, but a bulletin board does not necessarily have the capacity to hold its proportions.

What can I say, I'm a product of my enviroment, or maybe my enviroment is a product of me. Either way, of course. Not that I won't be as humorous as I choose to be when it is appropriate. I figuered on a Topic like that one, it would be the most appropriate to let loose to the extremes, and still staying within the "don't ban me" area.

I really don't have any experience in chat rooms, they scur me. Actually none at all. (scur is on purpose)
If anything, I would have to improve my typing skills, too much work. I like to take my time. That and not pay too much attention to anything.

I will think about it. When I said Newbie, I meant NEWBIE.
