    I originally wrote this during the Afghanistan bombing, but thought it fitted the current situation as well. A stray thought that went to the kids of the place.

    During night

    They fly low, they fly hard
    Under my bed I hide
    My mind & soul is scarred
    Countless tears I have cried

    Where has dad been taken
    Mom says away beyond
    Are we all forsaken
    Dad gives me no respond

    Mommy's eyes sees it not
    The destruction they brought
    Morningday I forgot
    When they upon us shot

    Explosions tear through night
    I crawl under my bed
    Hide from their evil spite
    My dreams again they shred
