[IMG] Sorry for the mad smiley up top, but...

OK finally reinstalled and patched up after along time not playing due to the bugs/holidays. But there is one that is still there, and thats from BG and IWD as well. The bar at the bottom of the screen flashes whenever a thief/spellcaster is used. Therefore meaning that they cannot be utlised for their special abilities. I.e. practically no magic and trap detection. I can get a few second respite buy selecting another screen then going back to the main screen, but this is very inconvenient, and have to reset trap detection anyway. If I'm not careful instead of trying to disable traps it can result in the character simply walking over to them. Any suggestions - last time I tried e-mailing BI I never got a reply?

And why was Torment unaffected by tthis, but the rest have been?

i bet that's your Graphics card that is doing that. Get some newer drivers or something.

Planscape was made differently to IWD, BG and Bg2... so that's probably why it doesn't happen.

Strange though... but i also get annoying graphical bugs when i change my Volume using my kool HP Keyboard... but nevamind... that's USB products for ya!

try using those graphical toggles as well... they might help! :D

[IMG] Torment used a heavily modified version of the Infinity Engine, but it also had a similar flashing problem.
It all depends on your graphic card and the properties you choose in the game.
There are a couple of option that can fix your problem though. Check the manual and the game options - graphics.

    Cheers,

I have the latest drivers for my card as far as I'm aware, and as it's a Voodoo, I can't see too many more.

I've changed some graphical options as approriate to my system - lower end of the spectrum for this game, so speed isn't perfect but OK. Which ones of these could possibly affect this problem, I can't see any that have any connection to this problem.

    Experiment with the options.
When you click on one, text detailing what it does appears in the panel below. Reading it is all it takes...

Plus read the readme file in BG2, I think they were some special settings for Voodoo cards.

[IMG] Well tech support are no bloody good. 'It's your keyboard', well why the hell does it not cause a single problem with anything else? It's not as if the buttons are stuck or anything. Get a couple of quick replies, then nothing, for a couple of days, just another copy of than automatic reply, which is useless.

:), but on a brighter note, thanks for the replies. I've also realised it can't be my Voodoo card - I had the same problem with BG, and I hadn't actually got round to getting it by then.

I suppose I could try a different keyboard, but I get the impression that is a kind of fobbed off excuse. Just have to find one first.

Great series of games, but just sometimes you need magic to win a battle, not just relying on brawn alone - I can only realistically cast it when I'm safe - not very useful then.
