[IMG] Back in 1996 the economic future of Indonesia looked as a surfer riding high on californian waves. Now it has gone from better to bad to worse ending up in a rollercoaster ride under the thundering waves. The crisis in Asian economics really hit the high hopes of Indonesia hard.

So when I think Indonesia, I feel sadness. Sadness for the vast popularity hit by poverty. Though it is natural that the crisis has struck hardest in the major cities, those who have the closets ties to the crosscontinental economics.

A lot has been done to stop this both domestic and international, and I hope a new healthy economy will spawn from the inside. :)

  3. I think you are right,ArchAngel.
I am afraid if this situation continues our country will be the poorest country in the world.
Why can the government solve the problem?
    I can't understand.
But thanks anyway for your opinion.
Is there other persons want to give their opinion?

Oh yeah, my country has like about three quarters of our artillery cannons aimed at indonesia and almost all our tank and commando units are ready to rush in at a moment's notice.
Of course, the air force has already identified bombing targets in indonesia and has probably rehearsed bombing them thousands of times.
Don't take it personally, we do the same thing to Malaysia too.
The Singapore Armed Forces are TRAINED to fight and kill indonesians and malaysians.
Sorry about that. Blame my government if you want.

[IMG] Hey guys, it's New Year's. Lets not talk about training guns. It's about peace on earth and good will toward ALL men. As far as Indonesia is concerned. May this year bring better prosperity and peace to your nation.

Well, due to Indonesia's military sorties in the past, they have spread themselves too far out (735,268 sq. mi.) with a density of 306 per sq. mile. Add a negative growth rate (-13.7%) to that and we have a very poor country. Since I'm from Malaysia, I see a lot of Indonesians migrating into this country (legally and illegally) to work as construction builders or maids. I don't really know what's happening there, but it'll be nice to see Indonesia's economy recover. A rampant piracy problem isn't helping the economy either.

PS. And Shura, can you just shut the f*** up before somebody puts you in your place. Clearly you don't realise that Malaysia and Indonesia are your country's major trading partners and your country would sink if we stopped trading with you. You know where you get your clean water from? (I don't mean to break any forum rules by saying this, but this guy needs to be rectified)
