    Hello,
I've been browsing through the various games on this site. I started playing MotB about a year ago but never got around to finishing it. I've now been compelled to do so. It seems that I still have the old saved games.
However my main interest in the story. How exactly does it tie to the original champaign? Could someone please explain this to me?
As far as I remember, the Lord of Shadows dies. The end. Then, you wake up in the middle of nowhere with some sort of vampiric craving for spirits. Everyone accuses you of being some sort of a monster and some freak bear wants to kill you. I remember that a battle took place outside the city's gates and then the bear agreed to help me in getting rid of my problem. After that it just stopped making sense.
Could someone put things into a perspective for me? What exactly do you hope to achieve in the expansion and do you ever find out what happened to your old companions? How did you get rid of the crystal shard and where did the new vampiric thing come from? I really want to know this and don't mind a spoiler or two. I have to motivate myself fo a whole new onslaught :D
    Regards,
    Crypt King

IMO, part of the fun is finding out what is going on as you play through. You aren't supposed to know how things are tied together yet.

I will say that you will get a very brief (and not very satisfying) description of what happened to your original companions immediately after the place caved in on all of you.
