After the end of the game, no more XP?

    [​IMG] After finishing the game, I re-loaded a save game before Hell. So, I can get to most of the cities and places and complete some quests I forgot about.

    But, there seems to be a problem -- no one gains any experience points. And not all characters at at the cap. Jaheria, for example, is still around a level 12. Only 3 of my characters are at the 2,950,000 XP cap.

    My question - did I do something wrong by finishing the game and then re-loading? Is there a way that I can build-up my characters XP without starting all over? I don't want to cheat if I can avoid it -- this problem seems more like a bug to me.

    Are you sure they are not at the experience cap? Jaheira for example is multiclass so her expereince points are divided between druid and fighter. If you add them together do they come up to the cap? A similar situation applies to Anomen, Aerie, Imoen, Nalia and Jan

    If the save game you are using is before entering hell then you should be able to go and finish some of the outstanding quests and gain experience as normal. If though you are already in hell in the save game you can't get out without cheating so that might cause problems.

    If you are suffering from the experience cap, then you could use one of the patches to remove it. These can be found in the main BG2 section here at Sorcerer's:

    [​IMG] I just checked and lo - you are absolutely correct! I hadn't taken into account the multi-class/dual class experience.

    I guess I'll just have to complete those extra quests as is -- I don't want to use the cheat if I don't need to.
