    LATE BREAKING NEWS!

Aldeth the Foppish Idiot has recently taken firm control of the number four position of Sorcerer's Place all time posters. Through his diligence and general verbose conversational skills the Foppish One pushed ahead of the 'Queen of the Random Babbling Posts' to secure his place in SP lore.

Congratulations to Aldeth on this significant acheivement.

Wow...what an achievment! Passing an inactive member...Whew! That must have taken some hardcore spamming! :p

Yes, I fully expect the same reaction when I eventually pass Arabwel and kuemper. :p

The real achievement is that most of Aldeth's posts have real content (i.e. he hasn't spammed the Random Babbling like Arabwel and Kuemper did).

I had not noticed this until HB mentioned it. A while back when we had a thread on all-time high posters, I did look at the list and noticed that I was #5. Since keumper was ahead of me, but did not post anymore, I figured that I would eventually catch up.

That will be the last person I pass for a long, long time - possibly ever (barring a return by keumper). HB still has me by about 3,500 posts (he's #3 on the list all-time). I'm about 7,600 posts behind Chev, and about 9,400 posts behind Tal. (To put that in perspective, I could double my post total and would only move from #4 all-time to #2 all time.)

Believe it or not, the vast majority of my posts occur while I am at work. The type of work I do has periods of furious activity interspersed with times when there's not a heck of a lot to do. So I go to SP. Still 8,900 posts from me. That's a heck of a lot of time. Assuming my aveverage post takes 5 minutes to write, that 742 hours of posting - or approximately 31 total days.

And that doesn't include time spent reading posts, playing arcade games, plotting the untimely demise of SP'ers you hate, and planning your take-over of SP. I don't know how you have enough time to do anything not SP-related. :p

    Congratulations, Aldeth

:hippy: I envy you, Aldeth. I wish I had a job like yours when I was your age. I was teaching, grading stacks of papers, preparing lesson and a few other things that left no time for Internet activity. Come to think of it I don't think we had PCs and the Internet.

    You lucky dog.

    and

Well, it should be pointed out that I have been a member here since May 2003. That's quite a long time. I have no idea what exact day I joined SP, but for ease of calculation, let's assume that was May 17th, so that I have been a member for exactly 7 years and 1 month. That's 4,413 days. Taking the 31 days to actually type the posts, lets say I spend twice as long READING the posts. (I'm hardly ever in the chat room, or do anything else on SP, so I think that's fair.) So that 31 days is actually more like 93 days. 93 days divided by 4413 is approximately 0.021 days on SP for every day since I've joined. If you convert that to minutes, it's about 30 minutes a day.

If you guys spent half an hour a day on SP, you wouldn't have time for anything else?

My wife is an elementary school teacher - I do my fair share of grading papers on nights and weekends (typically the math assignments). Besides, as I have said, it only works out to about a half hour per day.

Yep, me too. Don't have alot of time to lurk when at home, but there are slow days here at work, so most of the positng comes during work hours.
