    [​IMG] Why oh why did I not think of this sooner? All of my amazon purchases could have gone to support SP? And as a bonus I get this grizzled old guy avatar, who looks like he spent the 70s partying with Keith Richards! Let this be a lesson to all of those, like me up to last week, who just didn't get around to making that amazon purchase for SP. It sure feels great to help out SP!

    I'm glad you bring this up Caleb*, because it gives me a chance to address another issue that might keep people from buying Amazon through SP.

    [commercial]As someone who rarely reads the kind of fantasy books listed on SP, and whose PayPal account is covered in a thick layer of dust, I thought I'd never be able to contribute to SP (audience: "awwww"). But then I looked at the site more carefully, and saw a link called How to buy stuff not listed on SP but still give SP credit! In this link, Tal gives simple, easy to read instructions on how to support SP through Amazon purchases in the US, the UK, Canada, and Germany with a simple click of the mouse. It was so easy! Now that I realize that I can support SP without having to buy the latest tome vomited out of Salvatore's wordprocessor, my life has changed! *And* I have a cool new avatar! Thanks Tal!     Yes - if you do anything to help out SP, you can get an avatar, such as:
    - donate money
    - get an SPS subscription
    - buy something through Amazon via SP
    - buy some SP branded merchandise from the SP Shoppe.

    Harbourboy, you forgot to mention that you can also get an avatar by doing favours for Tal, such as:
    - washing/waxing his car
    - giving him a foot massage
    - getting him a date with Britney Spears
    - keeping chev away from him
    etc.

    I may buy PS:T and a coupla books through SP soon, but as for the avatars, I'd probably miss the fuzzy feeling that comes when my gem changes ;)

    perhaps when I've achieved Rogue Stone status like Aikanaro ;)
