Out of all the leet-speak translator programs, and the photoshopped pictures of "STFU NEWB", I find this reference to be the funniest of them all.

I've seen it on T-Shirts. And in magazines. I've seen bumper stickers, and graffiti on signs and water towers. I've seen hot air balloons with it, and planes pulling banners of it over airshows. It's been written, in chalk, on bombs and missiles. I saw it written on someone's lawn (probably using either bleach or really strong fertilizer), using the dead grass to spell it out.

It's a Classic Reference to the game "Zero Wing" on the Sega Genesis. But more importantly, it is a reference to poor game Quality. When I see it, anywhere, I am painfully reminded of 100 meg game patches and shoddy games that are pressured out by corporations that must survive to stay in business; not excel.

For those of you (like me) who have never played the game, it may not necessarily have any kind of sentimental value. But at some point or another, in your life, you'll come across this reference again. Someone will say it, or write it. The year might very well be 2020, but it will come back. And it will come back when some game is pushed out the door, in order to make money.

AYBABTU should stand out as a Darwin Award, for games.

What you meant to say was: The year might very well be 2101. Anyway, the first time I encountered this strange, pointless AYBABTU, was at The Gathering (one of the world's biggest LAN parties) a couple of years ago. I didn't understand much back then, but it was fun and everyone were using it. The crew also used it on the big screen: "All your garbage are belong to the dustbin" :p .

Make a search for this here... It's been discussed a few times before in the past.
