So, we are talking about that pigskin ball. The sport where you through the "football" to your reciever. Or you hand the "football" to you backs. Or you kick the "football" with your foot. We're talking about the NFL, AFL 1 & 2, and college football.
Who is the best player and team of all time?
What is your favorite aspect of the grid iron? What is your favorite SuperBowl Sunday or tailgating food?
Just talk about what makes American Football the greatest sport in the world.
Why is John Madden so much better than Dennis Miller? lol
Baseball is America's pastime. Football is America's passion. (Howie Long)

Well, i'm into American football as well, but i wouldn't wanna call it the worlds greatest sport. That's only YOUR personal opinion. My favourite team is Greenbay, so needless to say i was a bit dissapointed when the playoffs started this year. They never lost a playoff game on Lambeau field, and now the unthinkable happened. Ah well... i guess there is a first time for everything.

Btw, if you start a thread about American football, you don't have to mention it's not soccer. Us Europeans are not COMPLETELY retarded you know. :D

[IMG] I really want to learn why American Football is called regular Football when guys are running with some kind of ball(not even a ball) in their hands...
And real football is called soccer, soccer is played with feet. And it's called soccer(relative to sucker)Damn.

Khelben admits he's the real "soccer" or "sucker",turns his back and goes playing "soccer"

    Hmmm...
This is all very confusing to me...

You see, in Norway, "soccer" is called "fotball",
and the pig-skin ball-game (borrowed that line) is called "rugby"...

    Hmpf... Annoying...

Well being British, our main sport is obviously real football. Which incidentally i hate.

I have seen a little American 'Football' I saw the London Monarchs play once and the entire game just confused the crap out of me, the whole thing was very complicated and there was a lot of stopping and starting which sort of ruined it for me i'm afarid, but one thing stuck in my mind. Why all the body armour.

Personally i believe that half the fun of my sport: Rugby, is the adrenaline rush of the tackle and the occaisional pain. As far as i can see these American chaps are a little wimpy. Their tackling is certainly no more severe than in rugby yet they are all dressed like space troopers. I'd like to get my team up against one fo the American Football teams, toughen them up a bit.

Now Baseball, there IS the greatest American invention. I love baseball.

Well, since I'm like the first person it this thread who actually knows a lot about football, and probably the only other American; I would have to say that either Steve Young or Troy Aikman were the best players of all time...with Brett Farve close behind, I am a GB Packers fan after all! :p :rolling:

No, you're the second person in this thread who knows a lot about football. I might not be an American, but i DO know plenty about the game.

Like i said, i'm a Packers fan too. I also play the Madden footballgames from EA sports. They're pretty good.
