How would you rank your favourite and non-favourite NPCs?
Here's mine:
Favourites
1) Dakkon. Excellent voice-acting, plus his steady and solid demeanor really helped my spirits admist the desolate setting of Planescape.
2) Falls-From-Grace. Adore her! Anna's an irritating little imp compared to her!
3) Minsc & Boo. Man, I've lost count of the number of times this pair have made me laugh. For some reason, I never got sick of 'Hamsters and rangers rejoice!' Disturbingly, he reminds me of one of my friends....
4) Viconia. I just like evil women.
5) Morte. Fills the role of the Nameless One's sidekick very well, plus he has killer lines.
6) Kivan. From BG1, this guy radiated deadliness and menace. Besides, he's a great addition to the party in the virtually-no-role-playing BG1.
7) Keldorn. He's not such a bad chap despite his worthless profession. He can kick Anomen's arrogant ass anytime.
8) Jahiera. A very soild character that can fit into almost any party. Besides, her romance in BG2 is the most 'fufiling'.
9) Xan. Come on, everyone loved this guy. Why don't you all just admit it?
Arseholes:
1) Anomen. I almost always kill him in the Copper Coronet. Damn you, Black Isle, for making him the only love interest for females in BG2 and shaming all men!
2) Adjantis. Killed him in BG1, did it again in BG2. Paladin bastard.
3) Vhailor. Another asshole. Talked him to death in Planescape.
4) Ignus. Annoying and totally useless in Planescape since I already had my main character and Dakkon as mages.
5) Aerie. Couldn't bring myself to kill such a pathetic little shit like her so I dumped her like 3 minutes after she joined my party in my first game. Whine, Whine, Whine.
6) Haer Dalis. 'Useless' is a compliment when applied to him.
7) Khalid. Few arguments here, i guess.
Sorry people, I'm just too bored.

 

Actually, Khalid has a lot of character. I would put my life in his hands, as even though his heart may be weak his goodness will not allow him to leave a friend in need. Besides, he is a decent fighter and can amass quite a lot of HPs.

Dakkon is cool. Perhaps part of why I like him is because the way Black Isle tied the story of Zerthimon with him, and his "special" status as a pariah.

I don't know what's so good about Fall-from-Grace. I think her admirers also happen to like convent girls and kindergarten teachers.

Annah rules! Yes, a great accent and voice by Sheena Easton, and a "unique" attitude! She is one independent lass, and if you're on her good side you can count on her! PLUS, her long well toned legs and kinky, swishing tail is DAMNED sexy and beats any cheap tricks Falls-From-Grace can pull anytime!

Morte is good. Mainly because he adds to the story. Ignus and Vhailor are good too, because they also add to the story. Nordom is ALSO good DAMNIT because he's unique!

Most of the characters in BG2 are little more than fighting automatons. There is little incentive to have them in your party other than the way they can fight. Even though some attempts have been made with more scripts etc, this is merely to disguise the fact that they're expendable, no loss.

Xan is quite good. I would love for him to appear in a sequel and be more fleshed out.

And frankly, Minsc and Boo and that talking sword gets old really fast. They're too loud sometimes.

And Aerie! Viconia just got level drained to dust by a huge Shadow Dragon and what does she say??!! "Faster than Chiktikka Fastpaws!" Damnit man, I bet she hasn't even grown pubes!
