My name is Faragon, not Faragorn.

I'm growing tired of either constantly having to correct people or ignore the fact that they can't even get my name right. *sigh* Perhaps I should just change my PDN to include the R. I know it's a silly little thing, but it's been itching me for months.

That'll be all thank you very much. :)

    My advice,

Tough it out and stick with Faragon, it sounds more like a dwarf name. In contrast, Faragorn sounds a lot like Fangorn, as in the home of all those Ents who don't always get along with axe-wielding dwarves. ;)

    [IMG] LOL Beren!

Faragorn already exists on the boards. Well, sort of. In In SP's Chronicles (directory) we can find a certain human being who posted 3 times in the IWD2 forum. That was half a year ago. Seems there are too many axes indeed.

One of the main reasons I changed my name (it was formerly C'Jakob) was that people kept misspelling it (C'jakob, C'Jacob), etc. But I'm just weak-willed.

I can understand you, Faragon. People keep misspelling my PDN too.

[IMG] Mine too, people keep calling me "weasel" and "rodent", which is clearly wrong ;)

Faragon, they mispell your name because it sounds like Aragorn. If you change it to Faragorn I think it's even worse because, IMHO, they will think: "Faragorn...Aragorn, it's almost the same. The lazy could not find a name and added the "F" in front of Aragorn"

Gopher, is "gopher" going to mean something? If not, then why do they call you a weasel(sp?) or rodent?

I can certainly understand you Faragon! Been here about half a year now and to this day, NOBODY has ever noticed that the 'i' in my name has an accent on it. 'Ancalìmon'

Oh and I have a new gem!

@Ancalimon: I suppose everyone has noticed, but won't copy and paste the accented 'i' just to make you feel better when referring to you :)

@Alexander: I know why they're spelling it wrong, but that doesn't make it any less irritating. Perhaps I should have Tal change my title to "not Faragorn"

Well, I must admit it. The first time I saw your name I thought it was Faragorn.

If you wanted to pick a dwarven name then why Faragon? It doesn't sound Dwarvish to me.

Ancalìmon, I noticed it, but why bother?

Ah, yes, the importance of a name. They say the most important word in the world to a person is their own name. Of course, here on SP, we don't always take the time to look at someone's name before we type, which leads to all sorts of mistakes -- I just LOVE it when people call me "Deepara"!

@Nobleman: I don't know wether I should laugh or cry right now

@Alexander: I didn't start using Faragon because I wanted a dwarven name. That was never the case. I merely picked a dwarven avatar a few months ago when I donated for SP. Picking the name happened many many years ago.

Faragon ... I post when I have a spare moment. Always scrolling down or hoping back and forth to get every name right is kinda ... un-fun.

I call Chev "Chev" because I don't feel like spelling Chevalier (and getting it wrong) all the time.

Either pick a name that is easy to spell (Like Mike or Bat-Boy), let people call you a knickname (F-er or such), or go to Walgreens and order a batch of 500 mg chillpills. ;)

Sorry to be crass, but don't you have better itches to scratch? Personally, my hemeroids are killing me!

@Mathetais: Who are you to speak about easy nicknames? :shake:  :D

Every time I see it, I feel it should be Mathetes, but that's because I learnt Attic and not koine ;)

And chevalier is a very basic word.
