anyone else read this?? I just finished it up a little while ago, and while Dan brown is "the big craze" these days, i thought it was a pretty awesome book. those illuminati were interesting to read about. anyway. just wanted to see if anyone wanted to talk shop.

One of the best books I've read in a long time. I'm almost worried about reading The Da Vinci Code, as it may not be as good. Anyway, great book - easily worth the hype. Brown is one of the smartest authors I've read; the amount of critical detail in his writing is staggering, but without sounding so wonky you don't know what's going on.

imo, it's not. more historical facts/fallacies but i enjoyed angels and demons more. probably because i was so into the whole illuminati thing, although da vinci code uses a secret society as well. besides, angels and demons had a much better ending haha. he has 2 other books but only 1 of them is worth checking out. they dont feature robert langdon though. His Deception Point is pretty good, but the details are more scientific than historical so thats on the minus side for me as i hate science. his first novel afaik is digital fortress but dont bother with that one.

Actually, I just finished reading The DaVinci Code, it only took me about 2 days, and I absolutely loved it. The only thing that really struck me as being out of place is that with all the historical stuff in it, and how it's supposed to be pretty close to factual with a lot of things, there was refernce to 'the fruit of knowledge' in the Garden Of Eden being an apple, and it's never actually called that in any bible I'cve checked, it's always referred to as just fruit. Other than that, I'd highly recommend The DaVinci Code to anyone. Now to wit to get my hands on Angels And Demons.
