Anomen vs Viconia

Who is better? At the same level, Anomen has more spells than Viconia, and better stats (HP, strenght). He is not even knight (it is posible to reverse that?).

 

Possible answers:

1. Both suck because you don't have them in your party.

2. The one you got in your party is better.

3. They are equal because you have them both in the party.

Anomen is a better fighter Vic is a better cleric...try both of them out anyway...

 

anomen is a fighter/cleric and vic is a pure cleric.

 

anomen can be fighter or spellcaster... good helper!

 

But he's annoying, and Viconia has got some *ahem* style.

i like viconia more, anomen got kicked off my 1st ever game of BG2, just because he kept whining and going on and on about how no one respects him. viconia does indeed have style, and is funny too!

 

Anomen is a better tank (HP and strength) and Viconia, well she is the better lookin' and I can't think of any ohter reason to take her with you (well if she wasn't evil I probably took her with we because she is an absolute babe)

She can't wear wear better than studded leather or chain mail (i can't remember, but it was something like that), because her strength isn't high enough.

 

They will have the same strenght with Crom Fayer anyways. And the only thing Anomen can beat viconia in spells with, are his Turn Undead, destroy instead of control.

No, Viconia rulez, that's my opinion.

 

Anomen, with his wisdom score (what, 12?) is a lousy cleric, compared to Vic's 18. Ye can raise Ano's wisdom to 16, but 'tis taking some time. Vic is a reputation killer, and it would not be logical to have her in good party. Anomen has a rather interesting quest connected to him and can achieve GM in his weapons + use fighter-specific potions.
The turning point for me was Ano's speech. 'Tis really disturbing to my demeanor . Edwin, who has about the same attitude to ye, but he can support it with his 18 int, but Ano... oh well...

 

Personally, I think Anomen is better, but that's just my opinion, as I've never had an evil member in my party for long.

Viconia is a pure cleric, that's true and would have more spells, etc, but it many battles your "pure" mages and clerics would get clobbered because of low HP, etc, whereas Anomen can be at the back with your other mages, using missiles ans spells, and if an enemy broke through the front lines and attacked your mages, he could quickly defend them!

End battle with Irenicus will probably quickly kill Aerie or Viconia, but it's your call.

That is not true.

In my final clash the one who got killed was Anomen and Viccy kicked ass!

Yes, I gave Crom Faeyr to her of course.
And yes, I had them both in party till the end. So what?

But that doesn't mean I think that she is better. They both have their qualities - the one who leads them (you) should be judged if he/she (you) don't know how to use their advantages.

IMO, I like playing Anomen. I put up with his pomposities in tradeoff for his turn &/or zap undead ability. Plus, I put up with Aerie's whining, Jaheira's bossing, and Minsc's...Minsc's... what? (Natch, I have tuned game feedback WAY down, but still, every 10 minutes someone pipes up with some conversation about how they FEEL, like some Oprah episode. Sheesh!) BUT - I love this game. Nice BB, BTW. Nivek.

 

I perfer Viccy due to her ... ahem ... style ... and for her better spellcasting abilities as a result of her having wis-18. Reason enough for me to have her in my party and dump Anomen.

 

i'd pick viconia ... but i have anomen for the fact that he is/ will be lawful good and thats wat i play...

 

I prefer Vicky. Purely for the spells you understand

 

I say, pure clerics never are as vulnerable as pure mages (mages are a completely different story, with their massive abjuration capability which might make them invincible, if one uses it wisely ), for their hit dice is 8 and they can wear any armor, but there is one more Vic's disadvantage - CON of 9. Yes, she dies more often and she does not like elves (but, heck, i'd like to see her rip Aerie's head off just to finish the poor thing's sufferings... erm... )

 

I like Anomen better, there's just something better about him. Viconia's okay though.

 

I found that Anomen was just as effective as Vic in close combat(which is they both sucked) so i prefer Vic for the spells.(seriously, the bitch won't start a romance with me)

 

Viconia is way better than Anomen. She will get more spells later on than Anomen. There are several cleric spells that can also protect plus Viconia has a higher dex thus better AC. And she hhas insane magic resistance. Strenght is no problem because of the various str raising items found in BG2. That and you can not replace Viconia's NPC only ability of MR with a PC. You can easily make another Anomen.
