OK, I'm romancing Aerie, and I want to fight Haer'Dalis. He's stopped flirting with her, though my romance is still a go. Is there a console trick I can use to get him back on the Romance path?

I thought if you fought with Haer'Dalis your romance with Aerie ended?

Your Lordship is not going to teach the bastard manners. Should Your Lordship indicate such intentions, the relationship shall cease and the ungrateful wench shall choose that knave in Your Lordship's rightful stead. To let her realise who is her only true Lord and Master, Your Lordship should dismiss the challenge and, outrageous as it seems, leave the decision to herself. However, the scoundrel is to immediately depart unmolested.

Thank you, good Sir Knight -- I'm toying with the idea of being a vengeful mutt and killing Haer'Dalis and Aerie. Or I may let Aerie choose, as if she has the brainpower to make any choice of that magnitude. In any case, my question still stands -- is there any way to force him to make his challenge? The Romance guide lets me force Aerie to progress through her lovetalks (What a whiner, holy cow) and I always check the variable (she's at 1 still) but there must be a way to force Haer'Dalis to make his move. Anyone?

As far as I remember from the romance dialogue option list (it's called 'romancing guide' or similar and located somewhere in the tips, tricks and walkthroughs for bg2, but if you read thatt you'll know *all* and have no fun) there are two basic options: accept the challenge or dismiss it. If you accept, she leaves with him or they both remain in your party with your blessing. Either option sucks. If you don't accept it's like I said, he leaves in one piece. And this really sucks. However, I don't like him anyway and I've only freed him without joining (or maybe just for a short time).

The issue isn't what to do once he issues his challenge -- the fact is that up until now he HASN'T issued a challenge. I want to force him to do so via the console.

This is only a teeny weeny bit off topic, but...

Does the Jahiera romance continue into TOB? And if so, can you tell me a little about it without spoiling anything? I know what happens with Annoyman, Vici and Aerie - but never heard anything about Jahiera. Anything?

@Depaara: I think the problem might be that you might be too far in the romance for H'D to start flirting with her. The Romancing Guide did list exactly after which lovetalk H'D will not make any further advances on her. you should check that and see for yourself - then you could set the lovetalk number to a lower number and trigger H'D dialogues with Ctrl+I.

Though I would not actually advise to do that. Aerie-H'D dialogues are the most vomit-inducing thing in the whole game. You will probably need a large glass of brandy or at least a couple of beers after hearing those two sleezy idiots.

@Death Rabbit: Of course, Jaheira's romance continues in ToB. It was the best SoA romance, but the ToB part is not that great - no she does not change her alignment (druid thing), no she does not become pregnant or give you a child (god forbid - luckily she isn't such an irresponsible birdbrain and knows how to protect herself). It deals more with her fears to loose the PC to godhood. Her epilogue is remarkably unsatisfying and not what my PC's imagined when they declined godhood to stay with her. I would recommend to use the NPC Flirtpacks as they give a very satisfactory and deservate epilogue for Jaheira.

@Jurts. Have you finished the Ascension mode? I found Jaheira's romance epilogue quite satisfying there as well.

The Jaheira Flirtpack is on my list of things to do, and its becoming sort of like a second Christmas for me (just can't wait).

A note on TofB romances in general:
TofB, while great, often leaves me with the feel of having been a rushed product. Any of the romances in TofB in my view were well, under-developed. In so far as aesthetics and character is concerned, its still Jaheira before all others and I'm sure Jurts and Chevalier will nod their agreement on this point. I'm expecting that the Jaheira flirt pack will fill in the TofB gaps in an awesome yet faithful way.

But will the flirt pack usurp Jahiera's epilogue over the one provided in Ascension? Wonder which is better, or if it matters...I've (sadly) never finished a romance. I've only beaten the game with female PC's and no Annoyman. :(

Yes, but only slightly more than Bioware's. It can't compare to those epilogues given by the Flirtpacks, they are what 8-10 times longer and take a loooong time to read - but what beautiful stories they are. Mostly. If you're not an evil bastard, that is.

Depends on the order of mod installation. The correct way is to install Flirtpacks after the Ascension mod. So, yes, they will override the Ascension endings. But trust me - they are much, much better.

You DO need to install Flirt Packs after Ascension or you'll get the Ascension epilogues no matter what.

HOWEVER, if for some reason you still want the stock or Ascension ending, you can still get it by telling Jaheira that "everything will work out as it always has." (or words to that effect.) This is mentioned in the flirt pack FAQ.

But, yeah, not to brag or anything but my endings pretty much drop-kick the stock and Ascension romance endings into oblivion. :) Even the "evil" one, and I'm still waiting for someone to get that one without deliberately trying (as in, an experienced player getting it "just to see what happens.")
