    [IMG] Hi,

So I think I might be trapped and condemned to start over from a way earlier point....

I can't beat Branka + Golems in the final fight since I'm too low on health potions, and that I've taken only warrior / rogues with no herbalism on the quest. I wanted to try a quest with no mages, so I really loaded up on potions, but these Deep Roads quest have been by far the toughest so far, as there are so many strong creatures and bosses back to back - Spider Queen, Fade monster, Broodmother, Spirit Anvil, etc... , so I used up my stock pretty much.

Is there any way to get back to an area where you can modify your party, or am I stuck since Branka closed the way back?

Or, if that isn't possible, considering that I'm siding against Branka, is there a recommended strategy to win that fight with Zevran, Allistair (both dual wielding. I like to use Alistair dual wileding sword and Axe), Me (dwarf beserker/reaver) and Ogrham (sp?)

This is the last quest I need to do for the Warden Treaties (I already finished the Elves, Mages + Templars, Arl knights), so everyone in my party is level 18/19.

Thanks much for your tips, as I REALLY don't want to redo the whole thing...

Happy new year, as well :D

I'm afraid you can't go back. I haven't tried but it seems rather unlikely.

Oghren is a two hander fighter, you have two dual wielders and your character. I'm not going to lie to you this is a hard fight and you have a melee heavy party but no mage support and it's not going to be easy...

You are surrounded by golems and you have no real tank. Sword and shield Alistair is useful to focus attention while the other characters take foes down.

How good is Zevran with backstabs? Try to flank enemies to get more damage. By the way, did you put any points in poisons? Bombs can be used like spells to damage entire groups.

Oghren is a good damage dealer but keeping him alive is tricky. You'll have to find a way for characters to switch the heat between them.

Use Taunt and Threaten to get enemies to focus on a character and have him run around so they can't surround him while you attack with ranged weapons or make quick attacks and retreats with the others.

As usual concentrate your attacks. An enemy with his health at 20% hits as hard as one at 50%.

Branka herself is really hard to kill.

What difficulty do you play on? That fight is one of the most difficult fight in the game. If you don't want to replay the entire sequence you can always opt for the cheesy trick of lowering the difficulty to get through this fight.

Without a mage the lyrium veins won't be of much use either.

I'll post if I can think of something else.

    Happy New Year. ;)

Damn, really a bad judgement call to continue onward to the anvil in a no-mage party without being fully stocked up on potions and possibly bombs.

I really think Carad's suggestion that you try and pull off a Benny Hill (having the bulk of them follow your tank around while the rest of your party try and take them out one-by-one) is the most viable solution here.

    Ok, just to update.
I managed to win that battle, finally.
I had only one health potion before the fight, so what I did was follow caradhras' advice on concentrating attacks on one enemy.
I went for the boss Golems, if possible attacking the one my own Golems were fighting. When all the enemy Golems were gone, half my party was dead, so that only my character and Ogrham were left.
At this point I used threaten with my charcater, who has around 400 hit points, and just hacked away at Branka. Man she must have like 1000 HPs, cause it took for ever. Eventually shed killed off Ogrham. What saved the fight for me were my Reaver abilities. Both Branka and I were low on HP - and I had no more potions -, I used devour and regained 200 HP, then froze her with frightening appearance, and that was all she wrote.
    whew, glad that's over with....

Well done Phoceen. I was wondering how it would turn out. Devour is a very nice ability btw. Congratulations on your victory. :)

I found a good tactic in having Oghren use threaten, to then run away and draw Branka behind. At the same time my main char and Shale cracked the Golems (the low ranking Golems can be shattered), while Morrigan kept casting spells, and I made sure she used up all Lyrium crystals so Branka couldn't use them (so I was spared fighting multiple Brankas).

That worked really well. At the end everybody was alive and the battle cost me very few potions.
