[IMG] I'm into evil lately, and don't want to feel stupid while playing, so does the game's story support evil parties?

Nope. There might be one or two "evil" dialogue options, but the rest is just goody-two-shoe stuff.

If by evil you mean kill and rob rather freely then:

My opinion is no, although you do not need to be good so much as neutral. You are adventurers and out for what you can get. My parties In IWD tend to be neutral or mildly good.

Damn. I wasn't intending to rob & murder everyone, but I was hoping I could at least be an antihero. Like, if I'm helping someone, they better pay for it.

There's plenty of jerk dialog responses, but they really affect anything much. There's also quite a few NPC's to rob and kill without making the game unfinishable.

Actually nearly everyone plays the game "neutral evil", greeding for the most XP and equipment (s)he can get.

The dialogue options you take don't affect your reputation, but when your reputation gets low because of killing shop prices will get very expensive.

There are some items in the game that are evil-only, though if I remember correctly, there aren't all that many. (The more crucial difference for many items is between lawful and chaotic alignments.)

Check some of the guides out there, especially Simpson's, to see what items are alignment-restricted and where they are, and whether they're worth it.

For the record, you can mix alignments freely in your IWD party with no consequences whatsoever, so you can have 5 evil characters and a paladin for the paladin sword, for instance.

I think I will try it. I simply cannot play with another good party that happily risk fate worse than death just to help some selfish villager retrieve his quest item. :p
I just need to think of some cool evil theme for a party. And that is hard.

Just think selfish adventurers and go from there.

You can play evil to some extent. There are lots of jerky options in nearly all dialogues, like other people here kindly mentioned.

For example, if you are an evil bard, you can gain a few more things from the blue skinned woman in the epilogue. More XP, and a little token. Not bad.

Though actually, if you behave evil and lie to the troubled fisherman, you lose some a pretty nice reward near the end of the game.

You can pickpocket and kill some NPCs in Kuldahar. If you think this is evil enough. (warning:your paladins and rangers will become fallen if you kill a NPC in Kuldahar! And killing Orrick, ofcourse, will prevent him from selling higher lvl spell scrolls to your in the later stages of the game, when you need them!)

If you need inspiration for an evil party theme you can read the background stories the game offers for the evil characters you create.

Or do some research with BOM's search function. Just type « Theme Party(ies) » in either BG1/2 IWD 1/2 forums and you're bound to get some ideas.
