I'm having a slight obsession at the moment, and I'm looking for some music to back it up. The current theme is 'apocalyptic' (or 'post-apocalyptic') - can anyone point me towards anything? I've got a whopping 2 songs thus far and am craving more. Any genre welcome - hell, anything at all is welcome. You can't really create an apocalyptic themed playlist out of two songs...

Depends what you mean by 'Apocalyptic'. And it depends of the taste. I find that the song 'When the man comes around' by Johnny Cash is very apocalyptic..

Hmm, these are songs I find quite apocalyptic:

Bad Religion - Los Angeles Is Burning
    Breaking Benjamin - So Cold
The entire Muse album Absolution, but specifically Apocalypse Please and Falling Away With You, and also Fury, the Japanese bonus track.
Queens Of The Stone Age - The Sky Is Fallin'

The apocalyptic connotations in many cases may just be imagined. There are far fewer apoc songs on my mp3 player than I thought.

Most of Saviour Machine's Legend-trilogy is based on the book Apocalyps.
It's christian Rock Opera and the band has been detested by many conservative christians (I guess flaming crosses make a different impression on different people).
Perhaps you know them or their singer Eric Clayton. He's Reason in Arjen Lucassen's Ayreon: The Human Equation, which I thought you are familiar with.

"Quadrophenia" by The Who deals with one person's own apocalypse.

"Last Days of the Century" by Al Stewart. Also check out his song "Road to Moscow" - it's not about the end of the whole world, just one man's piece of it.

Any song by Naglfar. Allow me to show you some of their lyrics:

    Or how about...

It's black metal though, so I am not sure how much you like the sound of that.
