I'd say it depends on you. I only had two the first time I played the game. I took a party of all the mages through once. When you have two characters that go together, I just sent the one I didn't want on ahead into a battle first to get rid of him. It was pretty fun. I don't remember having any difficulties either.
In answer to your question, I'd say sure, go for it. Just as long as you have fun doing it.

Might be fun, but I think fighters are much better than mages in this game. I suggest you swich those mages to clerics and/or fighters.

In BG1 I think so. It will be a while until they can dish out some damage. You need to get all the way to level 5 before you can cast fireball, summon monster and such. But when you arrive it might be fun. No limit to summon in BG1... :heh:

[IMG] It's an interesting idea, and would probably give you different style of the game, stretching the lifespan of the game ;) . Go for it and let us know how you get on with it :)

Well, only problem I forsee is the lack of another strong fighter. You can never have enough mages, though. I suggest a dual class fighter/mage, or multi, but they're a bit weaker. Dual Class is preferable in BG1 since you'll get more hitpoints, can have weapon mastery, and you can pick a Specialist.

But by all means, you can complete the game with whatever party you want, just easier with some strong fighters to tank for the mages while they unleash hell :) .

First time I beat BG1, my party only had one mage (Xan). To tell you the truth, I probably could've got through the game just fine without him, It's just that I usually have one spellcaster in any RPG party.
In BG1, unlike IWD or BG2, Mages aren't as important. Of course that's my opinion, but I didn't *need* a mage or wizard at any point.
