I am about to go into the slavers stronghold, but I am thinking: is there anmy point, i might get pathetic XP and no cash/decent items, this is after the easiest XP in the game (talking sword quest, 18,000 XP EACH!)
SO, should I bother, or is there not much to get from it?

Of course, its one of the easiest and a great adventure to start you off... LIlarcor ( the talking sword) is also one of the best in the whole game....so...run for it !

Say not so. Do the quest because you are a brave and noble adventurer who opposes all that oppresses the freedom of others.

I don't really care about being an opressor of evil (even though I am good aligned) if I don't get any decent cash/XP/items/anything else.

I don't know if I read this right, but I think I saw somewhere that if you free all the slaves Bernard will open up a stash of decent weapons, etc for you to buy.

BTW, I just ran into that one weapons peddler in the Copper Coronet for the first time today (my second time through the game), and he has some really sweet goods for sale.

You're right, Beorn. After Hendak takes over the management of Copper Coronet, Bernard has new items in stock, including the Azuredge and the Blade of Roses.

i never tested.. If you do this quest the evil way, do you get those items? or are they lost to the games apocalypse for un-retreived items?

I'm not sure that you can do it the evil way. Either you do it or you don't. That's my guess anyway.

oh yea, you can also do umar hills and valygar quests the evil way, possibly tradesmeet (never tried) and im pretty sure you can do whispering hills a evil way, (though i would have to test some options).

You can do the slaver quest in an evil way. Just talk to the beastmaster and kill Hendak.

[IMG] As far as having to free the slaves in order to get the good items from Bernard. You do not. Just kill the inn owner. Apparently the game perceives the slaver quest as complete because Hendak eventually kills the inn owner at the end of the quest anyway. So, if the inn owner is dead then the game assumes you must have competed the quest. (I found this little glitch after failing to pick-pocket the inn owner and then killing him for attacking my group). oops!
