Are the Town Criers useful in BG2?

    In BG1 the town crier gave some useful information. Do the town criers in BG2 serve any purpose then to babble about stuff that does not pertain to me...or have I not been paying attention enough to get their meaning.

    They aren't as useful as in BG1 it seems, though they do add some flavor and a bit of information. It's just not nearly as much as in BG1.. in BG2, other townfolk wind up each having bits and pieces of information that you might find useful if you can put it all together.

    Whereas town criers in BG1 give potential quest information, town criers in BG2 zoom out for the big picture and focus on events elsewhere and add flavor to the story like Kailynne said.

    My favorite town crier incident is when my party was ambushed by the Githyanki in Chapter 6. One of their mages cast Lightning Bolt, and the poor town crier happened to be in the way :grin:
