What did everyone think of this remake? I enjoyed it, though not as much as the 1976 version.

The action scenes were quite good but the cameraman seemed to be obsessed with the dark haired females legs and cleavage, and the blonde females knickers - perhaps to take your mind of somethings that were not feasible i.e. the corrupt police officers having access to hi-tech weaponary, explosives and helicopters without anyone knowing?

I've yet to go watch the film, and tbh am unsure whether to. The John Carpenter original is my fav. b-movie so I dont think I'll be overly welcoming of it. As long as they dont go for a scene by scene reworking, it might be ok.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty good too, although I never saw the original. Ethan Hawke is always good, and a great supporting cast as well. Larry Fishbourne, Gabriel Byrne and John Leguziamo never disappoint and great to see Brian Dennehy back. The girls were just eye candy though but that Maria Bello, I could eat her with a spoon.

I watched this without knowing it was a remake. And I find this film good, very good actually.

I did not say corrupt police officers were not feasible, but:

"the corrupt police officers having access to hi-tech weaponary, explosives and helicopters without anyone knowing?"
