Not sure if anyone else has ever experienced this, but... I played through all of ToB with an assassin, then exported him. I wanted to play through again, but without too high a level, so I lowered him to level 20 with Shadowkeeper. His backstab, however, stayed at x7, and when I got him back to level 40, it jumped to x9. Theoretically, I guess that you could get the backstab to an infinite level, as I played around with it until it reached x65.

Do you have any screenshots of your assassin dealing out incredible damage? Would be fun to see...

The backstab multiplier effect simply raises the number, not sets it, so unless you brought it back down with SK in addition to your level (and HPs, and proficiencies, and skills, and...) it'll stay up there. It gets raised at specific levels (every four, up to 25 for assassins), so You could theoretically get x127 (or however high it goes) at level 21 by lowering the level (but not XP) via SK and leveling back up in the game, over and over again.

You might as well just learn how to fix your backstab multiplier with SK and be done with it. :p

Not sure how to post screenshots, but I have drained over 2000 HP in a single shot. (Then I turn invisible with the Staff of the Magi and backstab the next enemy in line!)

What sort of enemy even has 2000hp to start off with?

A friend of mine did some massive editing of our games, so almost everything, from a squirrel or a rabbit to a dragon, has an absolutely insane amount of HP (usually in the 20000 - 30000 range).

HOW did he/she do this? It sounds kinda cool! I may have a use of it. (as if my heavily modded game was not hard enough)

Go get Borsook's Mix Mod over at RPG dungeon. Borsook has a component that can more than double your enemies HP. I'd use that since it's WEIDU. That way, if you get tired of it or change your mind it's easy to put the game back the way it was before. This is a lot easier and less time consuming than making the changes by hand with an editor.
