[IMG] In case you haven't heard, there is a serious bug with the 1.18 patch. The fix they used to solve some problems with the DM client using monster special powers has apparently caused the AI to never use them. So if you wonder why the Slaad never summon friends, dragons never breathe fire, and similar issues, that's why.

All these things work when running the unpatched version, so you can restore this functionality by removing the patch. The patch doesn't have much, if anything, in the way of (intended)gameplay adjustments or single player fixes, so its probably a good idea to go without it. It certainly made a very big difference when I uninstalled.

David Gaider said this is a top priority fix and would be dealt with ASAP, for what that's worth.

Yeah, when a patch causes problems, just make another patch so solve the problems of the previous patch..... They have to make some problems too for when you only solve problems, they all get fired when the game is perfect :)

Well, there is a new patch that seems to answer your questions Vormaerin. When I went to play a MP game, it automatically informed me there was a 1.19 patch now.

I just installed NWN today. Do I need to install the 1.18 patch before I install the 1.19 or do I just go straight for 1.19?

    Thanks! :)

THere is a straight to 1.19 patch, but all you need to do is click the 'update' button on the load screen. Assuming you are connected to the internet, NWN will take care of searching for and installing the lastest available patch.

[IMG] You always get all the fixes up to date when you hit the Update button, you never need to install previous patches separately.
