Canada Ends Permit Program for Foreign Strippers

What a disaster! This is bound to reverse the inflow of Canadian immigration that peaked after Bush's re-election in the USA.

A Minority government is not allowed to do anything. Considering who got in, that's an improvement...

I woulod support the program if I lived in Canada...the fact they have to look outside of their own country for atractive strippers says a lot!

I would support any program that would bring more atractive women in to my country! :thumb: :rolling:

The funny thing is that from what I have heard the candidates who sought entry into Canada under this program had to perform auditions to prove their exotic dancing skill.

I can only imagine how much competition there must have been among the immigration officers who wanted to be put on that assignment. :shake:

It's unbelievable the uproar this whole thing has caused. Between that and Bush's recent visit to Canada, it's amazing our politicians accomplish anything important.

    ...oh wait, they don't.

I think the fuss is about the fact that she was a campaign volunteer for the MP that pulled strings for her. The opposition is doing everything in their power to defame the Liberals in the eyes of the countries...

Yes the political connection in this incident is what has brought the program back into the news but the original uproar was quite some time earlier when the media found out that the program existed.

Personally I don't see what the problem is. Everyone seems to agree that these women are able to find gainful employment in an industry where the supply of women currently living within Canada who are willing to perform in this manner is not sufficient to meet demand.

Isn't that the entire purpose of allowing immigration? One of the basic premises of our system is that we are supposed to allow people in to fill jobs when we can't find enough people locally.

Would anyone complain if we didn't have enough plumbers and the government allowed in people who could prove that they were skilled/experienced plumbers? I think not! If there is a job that needs doing and no one here wants to do it than of course we should allow in people who are willing to fill the void.

If anything we should be complaining about the way that we allow foreign medical professionals to immigrate into Canada on the basis of their medical skills but then turn around and forbid them from practicing their profession due to a lack of Canadian training/experience.
