[IMG] Now before you get too excited, I'm asking if there is one not telling you how to get your hands on one. Disapointment over, does anyone know if there is one available or if there are any plans to release one?

I was thinking that, as the add-on pack is the end of the Child of Bhal series (see other posts and info on this site) perhaps Bioware could now release the editor. I know that it would be very difficult to develop full advenures on your own but
    1) it's amazing what enthusiasts will do (just look at some of the quallty ameture levels developed for other games)
    2) it wouldn't be as hard to develop simple levels for multi-player or basic hacking n' slashing(more of the Diablo approach rather than the classic Baldurs Gate stories).

Anyway what does everyone think, should we petition Bioware?

PS I seem to remember someone developed some extra stuff for Badlurs Gate 1 (the Darkside add-on packs I think) but I didn't try them as the downloads were oo big.
PPS I'm not volunteering to design levels - I'll see how tricky it is first.

u wanna get into editing eh? well u'll have to be pretty good at scripting and stuff...

but they are available... from my friends TEAMBG

    http://www.teambg.com

they will have everything you need to get started... i'd also visit their forum too and see if you can get yourself onto a team.

There is also the mod Dark Side of the Sword Coast available from TeamBG...

    http://www.dsotsc.com

    does that help?

i doubt Bioware will ever officially release any editors simply coz they are probably tooo complex for our small little minds. but i agree i'd luv to make a BG Modification game... i am good at characters and Creatures actually... but i can make Items if the need is there...

go visit http://www15.brinkster.com/deano99 if you want to see my work or more LINKS to good BG editing sites. :D

If someone wants to go into editing we could maybe through a few ideas about new levels we want around in here - I personally would like to see a dwarven city full of forges, mines and furnaces - if only to hear Korgan moan about it being a useless human city.

Deano99, thanks for the info. I've had a quick look and the sites look interesting. Maybe I'll get a chance this weekend to have a play around (although I think I might suffer from a lack of brain). I also had a look at you site, which seems to have some promising stuff on it. Unfortunatley, most of the BG2 links didn't seem to be working. I'll try again some other time.
