    Trust me, even if Athans had years on his hands, he wouldn't have produced much better. There's hasty writing, and there's just plain bad. Athans' is just plain bad, hasty or not.

    It's a shame. A well written novel of the BG story could have been a real treasure. I was actually considering ordering this book a while back, but based on the consistent negative feedback, I've thought better of this.

    You could just get the game guide. The "journal" entries written by the created PC weren't too bad iirc.
