I just started a Tutu game with a Blade when I found that I could specialise in weapons. I know that Bards can't specialise, so I try going through character creation with the other bard kits, to see if this applies to all of the kits.
I quickly discovered that this was the case for Skalds and Jesters also, but strangely not for the basic Bard.
I've got the rogue Rebalancing Pack installed, but it makes no mention of allowing Bards to specialise, so what the Joseph Heezy? Is it a problem with Tutu itself, or just my game?

You shouldn't be able to specialize in any weapons, as a bard, with or without a kit.

Strangly, the NPC Haer'Dalis (a Blade) can specialize in Short Swords.

I believe with Haer'Dalis it was intentional. As a lot of the different NPCs have a certain special ability, I think that specialization in Short Swords was his.

    Haer'Dalis was on purpose.

The 'problem' sounds like something Rogue Rebalancing would initiate. Have you checked the readme and the modding site it originates from?

AFAIK Rogue Rebalancing is supposed to allow all bards to put three prof. points in dual-wield, and that's it.

I've looked through the readme and everything, and there's nothing mentioned about this.

However, I went through character creation on SoA, which also has Rebalancing installed, and proficiencies worked normally. So it's definitely something to do with Tutu.

Nataben: Actually, it made it so all Thieves could put maximum points in 2 weapon, among other things. Oh, and identical postcounts. Cool.

Well, I hate to say this, but...just don't do it. Simple problem, simple solution. (Besides, you won't get extra attacks with non-warriors anyway.) If there's more going wrong, then it's probably a symptom of a bigger problem, but for now, you have the power not to exploit this mistake.

I will not exploit. Exploitation is the mind-killer. Exploitation is the little death which brings total oblivion.

I should print that out and stick it to the bottom of my monitor. :shake:
