[IMG] I'm at work and don't have access to the manual and can't seem to find the spell chart on the web.

So, here's the question. With the XP cap removed by TOB can Bards now cast 9th level spells?

I don't play Bards, so I'm very ignorant to their abilities, but I read in another forum that some guy's Bard was casting 9th level Mage spells.

    So, what's the deal?

    -Immoral

    [EDIT]

Thanks, Extremist. That pretty much gave me all I ever wanted/needed to know about Bards.

(said with al pacinos voice from scarface)

    hehe!

on shadowkeeper, it can make the game more customizable (sp?) but be careful, it can ruin your game.

Powergaming ruined my first run through BG2.
Instead of immersing yourself in the world you keep optimizing.

    ranting as allways :)

[IMG] IMHO powergaming IS NOT the same thing as cheating.

I said before - my definition of powergaming is "ability to make things that only few players or noone else can do in that particular game".

    No, powergaming is not cheating.

what you do is to bend the rules as much as possible to your advantage.

    But...
I have found out the hard way that it is "cheating" me from experiencing the game to the fullest and to have an immersive experience.

the problem is that you want to have an as powerful character as possible, but when you have reached that point it is not fun anymore.
I have constantly to fight against it, since it ruined my first time through.

What I like with PS:T and upcoming NN is that you will not roll your stats, it will take away a boring part of the game.

for me that is, to each his own.

[IMG] Course I know I'm going off topic here and this is the wrong forum to discuss this, but since it was brought up, I'd like to add something. Depending on how low NWN makes their point buy system for stats, it will be exceedingly hard to make a powerfull character, especially a dual classed one. If they go as low as 25 points to spend, then that makes it very hard to powergame, unless you outright cheat of course (I'm sure that can't be too hard with the open ended system their shipping). Now I'm not a big fan of this idea or anything (personally like 32 pt buy), but hopefully at least we won't have to hear anything more about powergaming once this game comes out :D Hip, Hip...Hooray!!

[IMG] Crawl, for me that's only good news about NWN!

All other things I've heard for now suck!
