Are you supposed to fight in there with one char only? I find it neigh on impossible, heck I even cheated up one char after much frustration to see if it *was* possible and even then he couldnt do it. Tips on how to pass all the settings with a normal party would be nice :)

I'd say there are plenty of threads already on this subject. Just search for "Battle Squares" or similar.

Joacqin, no kidding about the almost impossible part. There are a few threads on this, but it's still pretty early in the IWD forums for there to be a slew of threads on one topic.

But to clarify, the golem expects you to do it by yourself. Fortunately though he's a golem, and like most constructs, he's not too bright.

Either use knock or the ring of the ram (that you can get on that level) and bash the north door open to the battlesquares room. IIRC you can't just pick the lock. Now, put your party in that north corridor, backed against the north wall.

Now have your desired gladiatior activate the appropriate switches and began brawling. For one thing, if you get a giant character to fight, they are the easiest (under this cheap, but effective method). Because they can't get through the doorway, and the golem can't see past the giant stuck in the doorway to send your characters away.

For non-giant characters, position yourself at angle, just outside the doorway. What this does is allow you to stay in the golem's sight, but allow your party members to ease off the north wall, and come closer to the door, and fire ranged weapons at your enemy and not be seen by the golem. As I said, he isn't the brightest of the bunch ;) .

Well it is a cheap tatic, but so is having to defeat overpowered enemies solo (and here's the clincher) in 60 seconds! Grrrr. I hate the 60 seconds rule.

But then again battlesquares are entirely bonus. You only have to win once to advance in the game.

    I still haven't beat levels 7-10.

Ah, do or do not, there is no try.

    But Master Yoda...

Shame on you Big B, leaving out the beginning of the quote.

Try not. Do, or Do not.
    There is no try

    On topic.
I have a fighter with an AC of 38 go in and clean up. Once he reaches rank 8, the smirk gets wiped off his face and it turns to a look of horror. I could never get to position my party correctly as a backup, so I just gave up with that idea.

However with this new info - Soon I will reveal them to my enemies, Soon I will have my revenge.

Actually it is level 7-10 I have problems with. I managed to finish the other levels with a designated gladiator and lots of potions. Those greater Feyr or what they are called (big brainlike thingies) are extremely difficult to beat in one round and you seem to be fond of giants Big B but I have been forced to reload at every frost giant, they hit everytime for lots of damage while I hit them a third of the time for less damage...

After completing Bsquares once (and I will probably never do it again) I can empathize with your pain for levels 7-10. However, with a little luck and the club of disruption +3 you get for completing level 6 these levels can be beaten. I suggest lots and lots of buff spells before you start. Improved Invisibility and Imp. Haste are a must. I also used StoneSkin, Bulls Strength and Cats Grace frequently. Most likely before you are half way through with some of your battles your haste effects will wear off, use BigB's suggestion about keeping you other party members out of the golems sight to rehaste your fighter when needed.

Haste is important because you want to attack as many times as possible each round. With the club of disruption you will likely take down most of the demons and devils pretty quick, plus the more attacks you have the more chances there are to have your opponent miss their saving throw and be instantly destroyed. While using improved invis only one of them (the demons and devils and nasty nasty creatures) will be able to see you, so use it if you have it...

Edit: by the way, if you think Bsquares is tough now-try it in HoF mode. There is almost no way to destory even something as "weak" as a remorhaz in less than a minute since all the creatures have more hitpoints than should be legal... Ok, there is actually a way, but it is darn hard and I stopped after beating level 1 in HoF.

What level were you on when you did it Grey Ghost? And did you use your spellcaster? I didnt think it was possible to throw stoneskin on someone else. I also wonder how you got that mace? I Got three in a row on 6 and all I got was a regeneration spell.

Joacqin, I was probably around level 10 or 11 when I played through bsquares the first time. I used my fighter/barb for almost all of the battles. You can cast stoneskin on someone else in IWD2 (however in other games you cannot-like IWD1). Anyway, just buff your character before the fight with all sorts of different spells and you should be good to go (don't forget improved invis).

As to getting the club of disruption. Ok, you have won three squares in a row. Now you need to go back and win 4 squares, then 5 squares, then 6 squares and finally 7 squares. See you have completed rank 1, the 3 squares, but in order to master a level you need to complete ranks 1-5.

There are several earlier threads which detail this process and there is at least one that gives you the break out on the patterns to use to complete each rank. Also, look around for the thread which lists the prizes for winning each level and then go through only those levels where you want the prize... It will save you some time since it took me most of a day and part of an evening to complete all the battles (it is really boring and I will not ever do it again!!!).

Ah I wish I had stoneskin and imp invi for my mage but the thing is that I havent found a single scroll with any of those spells, neither as treasure or as a purchase :(
I have more or less every other spell in my spellbook except those two and now as I am nearing level 14 it is seriously starting to annoy me.

I understand your frustration, those spell scrolls do not come along until later. I had a sorcerer and the 1st 4th level spell I took was Improved Invis, followed by Stoneskin. Well, you can move forward and go all the way to the drow and mindflayer caves before you cannot come back to the temple area. You will find the spells scrolls somewhere around there I am sure...

Joacqin, you don't need to finish the battle squares now. Go and kill Limha (after the Ice Temple, in the Wandering Village) and you'll get all the scrolls you need, for free. Then come back and finish it.
