What is the prize for completing rank 1 of the Battle squares all five levels apart from the key which i got after the first level? I only got 2 pearls and a bit of gold. Is this what i am meant to get in normal mode for it or did i miss a level of it or something?

Also does anyone have the list of items when you play it in normal mode i have found one for HoF but nothing for normal.

BTW if it is that i missed a level can i just redo that level or do i have to start again from the start o fthe rank?

For rank 1 is some belt, but you'd better do also rank 2, as for rank 2 you get Potion of Holy Transference, which is +2 to WIS at the cost of -1 to DEX. Good for divine casters and monks. Get an odd value of DEX (level-up attribute increase) and then drink it and enjoy your newly acquired wisdom.

 

Does anyone have good strategies to beat the monsters from the squares? I am having trouble with my paladin on rank 5(those apocalyptic bonegaurds beat me easy the majority of the time).

Also a FAQ i read said that you can get spell scrolls(high level spells) from the random loot after completing a level (not rank) has anyone ever gotten any spells and at what rank/level was it?

I've wondered about this as well. All I seem to get are relatively minor rewards for each fight and every now and then I'll wind up facing an elder earth elemental which will slaughter me outright. I don't think I've ever received anything worthwhile from the Battle Squares.

 

Return at a higher level.

 

Great tip but i figured out a better one my sorceress!

She is very powerful with the spells i gave her and can kill most monsters instantly with disintergrate. And those that save can beaten in melee by mordenkainens sword with blur, mirror image stoneskin and both the fire shields on. OR they can be killed with her great damge spells . Though she does have to rest every few levels to regain her spells. And every now and again my paladin with the club of disruption can take over though the monsters do save a lot.

 

Fighting battle square itself worths a section of explanation in an faq. Different monster require different strategy. The character i prefer is a paladin lvl 3/ fighter. Immune to fear and disease helped a lot when facing those monsters.

And of course, every strategy cannot complete with the ultimate SL (save load).

 

I managed to win all 10 ranks and attain Battle Square mastery for some very good items. Also at rank 8 as part of random loot i got Great shout at rank 9 i got aegis and at rank 10 i got power word kill so i am pretty happy.
