[IMG] SciFi aired a new version of the old 70s television show 'Battlestar Galactica.' After hearing about it for a few months, I was a little skeptical about all the changes made in this version from the original series. But after watching it...All I can say is: Whoa!

It was really good! Other than Boomer and Colonel Ty (sorry, no one can beat the original Boomer and Colonel Ty), I thought the cast did a great job! Edward James Olmos as Commander Adama was awesome, and the female Starbuck (Katee Sackhoff) worked really well! I heard she caught a lot of hell about her role, but I think she pulled it off!

I missed the tin can Cylons...They have newer versions, but the new Cylons are indistinguishable from humans...Which causes a new set of problems. Overall, a damn good show...It ended with a cliffhanger that suggests a new tv series - I hope it happens!!!

I was wondering how a female Starbuck was going to work. I also thought this was going to be a film not a TV series. I was all prepared to hate it and tell everyone '...it's not as good as the original...' but from what you've said it might actually be worth looking forward to (I doubt it will be available in the UK for a while).

Has anyone got the special edition DVD series box set (Cylon head)? I really want to know whether its any good before I splash out on it (even if its bad I might get it anyway just for the box)? Again I don't think it is out in the UK for another month or two but I thought it had been released elsewhere.

I liked it, though I haven't seen the original. It's still nicely done.

[IMG] I heard that although Battlestar Galactica had good ratings, Sci-Fi says they will not pick it up as a show...How cheesy is that?!?!?
