It's not half as odd as the title implies. I'm playing a mostly evil party, at least it should be all evil/netural eventually, and my reputation is 12. So I get a lot of complaints from montaron and kagain, but at what reputation will they actually dump me? anyway, I need to lower my reputation somewhat, I'm about to go into nashkel mines, and I suppose there's no way not to get a rep increase for solving that one? So, I could use getting it down to 11 or 10 before. I was thinking of just butchering some townspeople, but I don't know if I like the idea of having an entire town turn against me, and all those amnish guards.. So, how can I lower my reputation, without destroying my game at the same time?

I do believe they leave you when you get above 18, they're just bickering at your reputation level, but not exactly bitching as they will later on

Oh this brings memories...I think Montaron always said something like this when another NPC died..."Great, now we'll need another mule!" :D

Being evil is a hard thing to master. If i were you i would leave your rep as it is because the prices start to rise rapidly after that.

There is a building in Beregost with a dude that get's really annoyed if you talk to him.
If you continue he'll summon a lot of guards.
They don't leave the building, so you can always come back and kill a few more every time you need to lower your rep.
When you get to BG you also loose reputation by robbing houses.

I am playing the game again with mostly evil characters (Xzar, Montaron, Viconia, Edwin)

My rep is 13. Strange thing is they always complain...even when I do something the brings down mt rep. I flooded cloakweeod mines without saving the slaves. My rep went down by two and guess what....all four of my ecil characters complained! What's the deal.

I want to hear what these guys say when they are happy. What do I have to do? Kill people?
Bring my rep below 10? Do they really leave if your rep is more than 18. The first time I played the game I had edwin and he never left me and i had a rep of 20 for alomost all the game.

There are some things in the game that lower your reputation (like killing Drizzt let your rep reduce with 10)

You can also kill a lonely commoner (not in the middle of a busy place)

Maybe THE slolution is killing Neb..... that guy has no life :D

You need a reputation of 6 or less.
Things become very expensive, but that's what Montaron's thieving skills are for.
Like I said: rob houses or annoy that guy in Beregost so he summons his guards. Robbing the merchant tents at the carnival is also a solution (they have no items you can't get somewhere else anyway).

Well I like the idea of the guy who started this topic.... You can be a character with an Evil alignment, that ACTS like a Good aligned character (of course to finally let things turn out into evil)

Good aligned characters has benefits, so why not act as a good aligned character and take that benefits, however in your heart you are evil?

[IMG] I don't think that montaron is a good thief. Is it just me or is the title a contradiction.

Why not act like you are good? Because it's no fun to be the villain if you can't laugh manically, plan to rule the world or grow a goatee or kill, maim and insult everyone and everything just to illustrate how evil you truly are. Bwahahjahahahahaghaga!

Why not reap the best of both worlds and be neutral?

Neutral is for people who can't choose between good and evil ;)

Bonzo ----> he isn't as good as most pure thiefs, no. He also isn't a pure thief. He is a fighter/thief, his thief abilities are some less then most pure thiefs but he is a way better fighter then most thoefs are.
