This is so annoying. I was battling the Improved JonBon fight, and I know the fight is really tough, scary, and fun. I was well-prepared, the hardest round was the first.

Kelsey's Project Image removed Pride Dragon's buffs, and damaged him in a TimeStop. My Wild Mage's PI also Time Stopped, killed the Sword of Greed instantly, and badly wounded Orb of Fear, then got killed by its Shattered Body ability. (which it kept spamming to my PI uring the Time Stop) Neat, the Summoned Elementals from the Staff of Elemental Mastery kept Wraith Busy, Jaheira activated Critical Strike, (there was no way she coul hit his -24 AC otherwise) and started bashing with Fulcrum (the awesome club) she was already improved hasted, and dealt 50-60 mg per hit. While, Planetar and Chloe assaulted Pride ragon (both are immune to its level draining) an killed the poor thing. Chloe then even rushed to the Badly Wounded Orb, and slaughtered it with ease, she lost a lot of CON during the battle but she survived.

Jaheira by the time has badly wounded the Wraith, I ordered Chloe to finish it too, she had -19 THAC0, which is so awesome that she coul hit the Wraith with little problem. Planetar was sent after Selfish Irenicus to absorb his spells, while my Shapeshifter14/Fighter 15 dual class assaulted the mage with Bloodbane, throwing spear, with 9 attacks/round, Immy was busy trying to dispel Jon's buffs, while my WM and Kelsey were searching for a safe spot to cast another PI. Then...

Then for no apparent reason Chloe went berserk. Her circle turned yellow, and she killed the Wraith, then..turned on Jaheira. Jaheira ran, but Chloe followed, and this was really annoying, luckily, My Druid/Fighter's Bloodbane spear stunned Jon, and he was gone fast.

Second round was easy, used Scrolls of Pro from MW, turned Slayer, and kick the Slayer Irenicus's butt.

Final round. My Druid/Fighter summoned a Deva, which absorbed Jon's spells in a TS. Immy then casted her own TS. She waited till Jon's pro From MW faded off, then fired an Eagle Arrow from her bow, which stunned the mad mage. This was the chance! Deva, Chloe, and all others assaulted the mad mage for a quick kill, though we were not able to penetrate his stoneskins yet, then...

Chloe went berserk again and attacked Deva, which also turned her hostile, and, needless to say, in this confusion JonBon recovered, casted another PfMW and Dimension Doore away, aaagh.

We killed the Deva fast enough, then Chloe started attacking Immy, Immy casted a PfMW. My WM spotted JonBon. He casted a fast TS. I waited till his PfMW was down, then bashed with the SoM. Which dispelled him. Dispelled his Invisibility, Spell Immunities, Stoneskins, and all other things, this was the chance, this was the moment, my WM also released two comets, and 5 ABDHWs, which did not damage Jon (he is immune to all spells?), but I also created a Mrdy Sword, which attacked JonBon. Bloodbane and Immy's Eagle arrows stunned him, and there he was, completely naked, and stunned, and we all bashed and killed the sucker for the final time.

This was one cool fight and victory, but...why did the Chloe go berserk so easily and often? There is no item in her, to cause such a thing. I know NPCs tend to Morale Failure and Berserk in a huge fight, but we were winning too! Her berserks really caused me much pain, and allowed JonBon breathe longer than he deserved. Hers was a real Berserk though, she even got the 15 extra HP...but WHY? This has never happened before.

Any clues and comments will be welcomed.

 

Now that is weird. I dumped Chloe for Sarevok (I wil redeem him!) in ToB, but now, Imoen started berserking in major fights.

She was ambushed by nasty guards in Gromnir's cells, she casted a PfMW and decided to retreat to the party, but she went berserk and started hacking the crowded guards, I could not control her anymore, fearing she would suffer a chunky death thanks to backstabbers, when her PfMW is gone, my WM rushed, casted a Tme Stop, and unleashed all his spell book:Greater Malison, Symbol:Stun, Emotion, Slow, Glitterdust, Chaos, Chain Lightninging, 4 ABDHWs, 1 Comet, 1 Wail of the Banshee, a few Finger of Deaths here and there...Needless to say, the poor guards were slaughtered almost too easily. My WM had to do his best to save Immy.

But why did she go berserk all of a sudden?

She also went berserk while fighting with Gromnir. She could not cast protective spells so even though my WM killed all other Gromnir goons in a TS, Gromnir managed to kill berserked Immy (bastard!) and his death was much more painful because of that. I was able to revive Immy this time, luckily.

Please, I guess this habit has passed from Chloe to Immy. (they were really rather close, wink wink) and it is annoying. Why does she berserk in any major fight, and what can I do to prevent it?

 

I think the problem is playing with too much mods.

Please uninstall all your mods and try again.

Even my unmodded game shows me blue screen so much i think i can never play with a mod more than a hour without crashing or some strange things happening.

 

Uninstall my mods? NO way, I lost the count already, I have more than 40 mods, and I am not sure I can get all of them back and still work properly?

So...other ideas?

 

@Silverstar: Well, this is slightly off-topic...but of all those mods, how many do you HAVE to have? I can't imagine you need every single one of 'em...and honestly, I can't blame your poor BG2 installation for going haywire...

 

You are right, Faraaz, and I tried to clean my mods as best as I could.

I do not think this is due to my mods though. Mod-conflicts can cause such NPC behaviour? Never heard of this before.

 

What?! The game you're playing isn't BG2 anymore then. It should be an entirely different game.

BTW does that berserk give immunities? If it is so then it could be useful for killing imprison-ing creatures.

 

Well I daresay my BG2 is the most unique BG2 you can hope to find.

I do not know about berserk's immunities, even if they did, it is not effective:I can not control when to activate berserk, and I can not control Imoen when she berserks. I think it is like a morale failure:berserk as it happens at big fights.

 

I'm positive your problem is caused by a mod-conflict...or even more likely, a script messing up on you because it was modified by one of your mods. It COULD be an NPC mod or a AI mod...I dunno, I'm firing blanks here...but that just makes the most sense.

In all my years and 70+ runs of BG2 I've never had your problem...ever. And I've also had a fair few mods installed in my day...except, now its just Ease of Use, Tactics, and those souped up battle mods....

 

Did she wear the Lillith's Amulet, which has a 1% chance of causing the wearer to become berserk.

 

You...oh...yes. I had all my NPCs wear it as it has very cool protections, but now you say it causes %1 berserk? I had NO idea. Absolutely NO idea. The item description suggests there is some drawback, but does not state what it is. I am enlightened!

So it has nothing to do with my mods? This is most relieving. Thank you very much!

Is this %1 cumulative by some means, as it started to heppen rather too frequently for my tastes.
