Thief Kits don't get a lot of selection in blunt weapons... clubs and staves, AFAIK. I would prefer a weapon(club)that could be dual-wielded. The bone club that did adequately in SoA, doesn't seem to hit most undead or golems anymore.

What are your best suggestions for blunt assassination weapons to be on the lookout for? And how long will I have to wait to find them? (This is my first time through ToB, so no spoilers that are too specific please.)

I don't understand why you want to backstab with a blunt weapon. But I do think there are no good backstab weapons anyway.
If you want to duel-wield, there's only one better club, but you need ring of fire resistence to make it.
Otherwise there's one very good staff.
You can make both of them straight after watcher's keep.
