[IMG] I almost always play with characters that can backstab. Not counting dual-classed (has to have the backstab throughout the game), what single or muti-class has the best abilities, damage, spells, versatility, etc. while having some sort of backstab multiplier? Thanks!

An assassin gets x7 on the backstab multiplier. I would think a F/T multiclass is the best, imo.

    Hello -

In my opinion, the M/T is the most versatile and deadly character option.

If you are looking for big backstabs, though, I'd have to go for a Kensai-Thief dual class with grandmastery in staves, two-handed weapon style, and use of Kai and the staff of striking when you *really* need a big hit.

    I did a write-up about it here.

A cleric/thief can also be fun.

With the quarterstaff +4 you can buy early from Ribald and the "draw upon holy might" spell he can do quite some backstab damage.
He can also heal everyone after hard battles, if he dies the game is over anyway

F/M/T or M/T are most powerful of course since the mage spells are just too cheesy.

It'd have to be either a mage/thief or a fighter/mage/thief. Once you can cast mislead you'll be laughing.

I'd say the Kensai/Thief (Kai), but since you want backstab through out the game, I guess it's out of the question. F/M/T then, for various reasons. Amongst others, Mislead as prine has already mentioned.

I'm going with a F/T at the moment. At level 11 fighter / 14 thief (x5 backstab), I do a solid ~80 dmg with the Celestial Fury. Quite a weapon, though I use the Daystar, Dragonslayer and Blade of Roses as well, switching around, and it's about the same.

I'd go with the Assassin kit, or F/(M)T

By the way, don't get me wrong - fighter/thief is probably my favourite multiclass option, but it honestly can't stack up against a magic-using thief. Mislead is basically an n-round version of assassination, and that's just one spell.

    F/M/T.

Mislead, spell immunity:Divination, Imp. haste self, dual-wield two nice katanas, sneak to back, activate Critical Strike HLA.

8 attacks/round, all critical hits and back-stabs. With 200+ damage each hit. Everything is turned into chunks of flesh fast. You should see that!
