Please post the best/most fun (in your opinion) working combination of mods for BG2. They can be any type of mod what so ever as long as there are few or no bugs from having them all installed at once.

The most I have done is the darkest day hehe.

P.S. Links would be much appreciated too ;)

A good start would be our Mod Review forums here. Most of the higher profile mods are there.

For links, and for mods not in that forum, try PPG's mod list. If it isn't there, it's somewhere else. ;)

My personal favorites are Ease of Use, Tactics, the Banter Pack, and the Flirt Pack. My favorite NPC mods are probably Kelsey and Valen, though there are many more really good ones. A lot of people like Solafein, but I'm not a big fan of him. Changes the character too much for my tastes.

The best thing is to work out which components you want to use and use mods once you have already played the game at least once so you have a good idea what the mods are going to change. I have installed some elements from the ease of use mod and G3 tweaks, I recommend Unfinished Business (absolutely great and it looks as if it was always part of the game), some of Tactics is quite good (to get over the routine although I strongly advise you to keep only the components which suit your gameplay).
My favourite NPCs are Hubelpot Thistledown (a great NPC, very funny and not overpowered at all, moeover he comes with a nice little quest), Valen (although you should get rid of her "claws" since it is way too powerful... in spite of this she is very interesting), Solaufein (I agree with Kam, but it gives an opportunity for some variety in the game), Kelsey (he interacts with Solaufein and the original NPCs, has a good story and is a Sorcerer, powerful but not overpowered), I also tried Keto and she was fun (she also has some banter with Kelsey which I didn't experience just yet).
I have tried Chloe, Ghareth, Nina and Tsujatha and I didn't like them that much (their gear is overpowered and some of them have silly stats); Tashia wasn't bad but Kelsey felt much better in my party and for RP reasons (Tashia doesn't really want that much to join the party).
Sorry I don't have the links but you should find most of these on the boards or on SP. Have fun!

Banter Pack and NPCFlirt are a great combo. Add Unfinished Business and you will have to replay the game again since there is suddenly so much more to explore.
Weimer's Ease-of-Use, Oversight, G3Tweaks, D0Tweak and NPCKit will make life a bit more easier.
Calculator and Dungeon-be-Gone are fun mods, good for a laugh.
The new Hell Trials finally allow for Neutral responces.
Weimer's Weapon Upgrade is a good useful mod. But his Underrepresented items can be really overpowered.

The darkest Day could be a good if somebody skilled would take it and clean it up (including removing all the overpowered stuff, reworked the scenes a bit and rduced and redesigned stupid kits - while theyre at it why not remake the story and have a brand new mod :D ). But thats most likely never going to happen... ever.

Otherwise its buginess and long cut scenes make it a no no imo.

Actually, with The Darkest Day, I'm currently in the process of rewriting the dialogues and item and spell descriptions. I've done about half of them so far.

With the dialogues written in proper English, it will be much more enjoyable. I've also fixed a couple of bugs in the dialogues.
