Whats the best class and kit to make use of the thief and bard advanced skills? Can bards set traps? Can swashbucklers make use of the assassinate skills?

Well, personally, I think that the rogue skills really aren't that great - the only one I ever really got use out of was the "use any item" skill. The evasion skills are good (if you remember to use them - I almost always forgot about them). And the traps are cool too - if you like traps (some do not). Other than that, the others are pretty weak - but that is just my opinion, by all means try them out!

Yes, bards can set traps and I would think that since a swashbuckler is a rogue, they would be able to assassinate since every attack is treated as a backstab, just without the benefit of the multiplier other thieves get. Use Any Item is the best for a thief, followed closely by the traps.
